Hi Mike!
I am a cancer survivor who now works with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society out in Long Island, NY. I have to tell you about this bizarre, but fantasticly messy event we do. Every year at the end of June, we have a fundraising event that is extremely unique and VERY DIRTY! The weekend before the event we mix 1500 gallons of Gelatin in 30 gallon garbage cans with oars, muscles, and pressure washers. We have a ton of volunteers and staff who all do this together and it takes a few hours to do, but could really use your help. We wind up covered in gello, exhausted, and I can't even describe the smell!
The best part is that after we get the Gello to solidify over the course of a week in a GIANT FRIDGE, then we have to transport it over to the event in a truck, where we have to physically dump it into a three foot deep kids pool and chop it up (it is not easy to get solidified COLD Gello out of a 30 Gallon trash can). Hundreds of kids of all ages (2-99) raise funds to Slide into the pool of Gello, then get hosed off by the Fire Department. This year we want to raise over $100K and we know that even just having you present at the event, we could double this!
Don't let me forget about the clean up too, where we actually have a septic company come and suck up all the leftover gello into their truck to get rid of it. I am sure they could use your help too!
We always joke that we should tape ourselves, because as funny and messy as the event itself is, the setup and mixing of the Gello is even better! I would love to give you even more details, please contact me at
katie.stockhammer@lls.org if you have interest. The event is in about 6 weeks, and nothing would make us happier than having you and your crew there. We love your show

Sincerely,
Katie
