Dear Mike, I think you should head a little North of San Francisco on the California coast to join me for a little abalone diving. Of course the free diving part is not particularly dirty; certainly cold, definitely wet and occasionally miserable, but not dirty. The dirty part starts when you get to de-shell, gut, trim and slice them all while they are exuding and extruding copious quantities of slime (we call it snot) from every pore of their being. Then, after you get all the slime off yourself you can eat some of your catch. Yummmm!
My son and I agree. I took him out for the first time this weekend. He thinks that the slime, cold water and seaweed in the tide pools is perfect for this show. Moreover, the gore of cleaning the guts out of the creature is something that Mike would love.
