Carpet cleaning is nothing like you see in the T.V. commercials. Some peoples’ places are just plain NASTY! I remember one place where I used a scoop shovel to remove all the dog turds in the house. Other than fecal matter, urine, paint, vomit, tar, wax, and God-knows-what else, we also did fire and flood restoration. Nothing starts you work week off like cleaning up some guy’s basement that is filled with raw sewage. One good thing about that job is that my boss did all the jobs at crime scenes, suicides, and other places where people die. (Dead people tend to empty their bowels and bladder when they die.)
It is a backbreaking, thankless job that is just plain dirty….so others will be clean.
