What if Les had a partner or two? Think about it... there have been plenty of situations where more than one person found themselves isolated and hungry... for example: the Argetentian Soccer Team in the Andes; or swarms of Boy Scout Troops in the last thirty or so years.
Just think of the possible difficulties and advantages this could carry with it. You have to deal with feeding more people, but there are more people to help. However, someone might not be proficient with survival skills, so someone else has to carry that weight. Afterall, leadership is usually a big part of survival... maybe he could demonstrate such a situation, as well as take advantage of extra hands for the camera?

I had the exact same thought!!! I couldn't agree more - I was thinking it would be sweet with at least one other person to lug all the camera gear and help with filming.
Also, Survivormen could stay longer, perhaps two weeks or a month.
"swarms of boyscouts" - lol!

Nah. Group survival would be less interesting than you think. The basic survival techniques are still the same. Like you said, it just introduces politics and really, who wants to see 40 mins of arguing?

Not me, just surfing the small number of channels available to me, I can find at least a half dozen "arguing" programs during primetime.

It would be good but he wouldn't be by himself and it wouldn't be the same if he was alone because he wouldn't suffer from loneliness, which is one of the hardest things to conquer in survival.
