my sister-in-law is a good artist and has designed a tattoo for me and another for my wife. she is interested in becoming a tattoo artist. what does she need to do to get started? and do you have any helpful tips?

I would suggest that your sister find a shop and artists that she likes and who is look for an artist. She would most likely have to submit of portfolio of her work to this artist. If accepted she would undergo an apprenticeship for a while before becomeing an actual artist.
