I have tattoos on both my ankles. Theyve been done twice. Outlined & shaded. Both times theyve resulted in a thick layer peeling off. Its very painful. The person who tattoed me it was his first time. How can I prevent from my tattoos from looking faded, pieces of color missing?

Well, first-time tattoo artists can be a little gun-happy. They think that digging into the skin will help the ink stay longer, but in fact, it's the complete opposite. It makes the skin kick into over drive and actually makes the skin scab more. In this case, make sure you wash your tattoo very well, with fragrance-free soap and warm water, for the first week or so, and use Aquaphor!! Its an amazing skin ointment that you can get at most grocery/drug stores. I believe it's made by Eucerin. Don't pick at your tattoo either...bad news. But most of all, my best advice would be to go to an experienced artist that knows what they are doing. (no offense to your artist, but quality tattooing comes with experience and time).
