People need to be aware of the hard work that these officers are enduring daily....not to mention it opens the eyes of people looking to add a pet to the family. More and more people are going to the shelters to adopt because they realize the enormous numbers of animals that need rescuing!
I agree! Infact they should renew all the Animal Cops shows. All the officers should get to show what they do. And I bet they want to share with the world their job. Imagine haveing a job where you have to keep all the sad, horrible, and happy things ALL to yourself even I couldn't do that. Please someone support us!
the presence of film crews, their paraphernalia, and all the planning etc., is to some extent a burden on the investigators or animal cops (depending on what function a team is filling) and a time-consuming distraction for management, etc. too.
that's a big part of why Detroit and the ASPCA, the only two places where the series were announced as ended, are probably relieved to some extent to be out from under all this.
there's also redundancy. how many fighting dog seizures do people have to see to get the point? how many starving ill-tended back yard dogs? how may hoarder cases? how many bad breeders who are in the job of selling sick puppies, which overlaps sometimes with the hoarders case.
how many animals abandoned inside a building with no food or water?
and all the other stories.
ONE EACH, i say, to get people to rise out of their chairs and do something to help.
reruns cover all that. if AP drops even the reruns, i will be screaming. but they haven't yet. if they are gonna do new angle series, like the EAMC work at Phoenix with its field emergency medical care, i'll be there, those are very useful.
I am sad to know that there will be no more new Animal Precinct or Animal Cops: Detroit. I know the shows hava done alot to highlight the plight of many companion animals. I help with the new volunteer orientation at the local spca. Quite a few of these new volunteers say they decided to volunteer after watching the Animal Cops series of shows.
On another note. Did anyone catch the show last night Animal Cops: South Africa?? Very interesting.
yes, i posted about that on another thread yesterday with some other info. i wasn't too delighted with the return of the horses to that owner, and it's good that they will be monitoring him, because he's probably a backslider.
the minimalist standards of housing and care reminded me of some remarks by Houston's Mr. Boller - we can't go beyond the law, and the law supports low standards that we may not agree with, and we have no choice but to accept those.
that was not a stable in any sense of the word, just a Rube Goldberg mess.
nice job with the seal, tho, and from what one could see of the facility in general, it looked like a good place to work.
and i especially enjoyed them jailing that dog fighting ring jerk until his trial, we need to do that here too.
I can't help it! I Love seeing animal hoarers, dog fighters getting put behind bars! The dogs shouldn't suffer because the owners want to get money. Mr. or Ms Animal Control or Investigator think about what the younger kids are learning! Let's just say a kid of a dog fighting parent saw all the dog fights and they saw your show, think about it they would think that it's wrong and who knows maybe they'll call you guys about what thier parents did. Wouldn't you get a pretty good case? It's all about what the kids are learning! Think of what we're teaching!
I Agree with all of u i love seeing the animal abusers put in jail and suffer the consequences its just wrong what they are doing. And I Wish every country had animal cops i want Chicago to have some since there;s animal cruelty here to and i really want to be an animal cop!! Everyone should have their own show it would be exithing to watch and to see animal abusers put in bars!! =) Like for example, animalcops south africa they have one y not chicago or other places
