I LOVE IT!!! after 40+ years of loving horses there is finally a tv show/channel that is about them! I couldnt beleive it when I saw the commercials on AP. The show was great cant wait for tomorrow to see the jumpers show. Its all my childhood dreams being lived out on tv.
If u need any volenters to clean stalls Im available anytime!!

I was disappointed. It seemed that the show was more about the "stars" than the horses. I wish they could make a series on just horses where we could learn and enjoy the awesomness of them.

I thought the show was great! It was fun seeing the relationships between people and their horses. Nothing surprised me at how important the horses are in everyones lives!!

I was a little bored with the show. I thought that the interviews didn't hold my interest. I'm like the majority and wish that they would showcase the horses and what we can learn from them. Maybe interviewing some top trainers instead of "stars". We can use many of the same techniques on people skills as well as horses.

I loved it! I wasn't planning on watching it because i had a load of geography homework to read, but I got sucked in! I liked that it was mostly western which is a discipline I am not too familiar with. I loved watching Mrs. Rhimes cut!

I agree, Terri. I ended up changing the channel after Ronan (and was totally disappointed with Rimes - who spoke of having to be in control of the horse, rather than being in a good partnership). IMHO, the horse should be the focus - especially on ANIMAL planet! - and not "stars." Or - get REAL horse people . . . Mark Rashid, etc

Namaste,

I really liked the show. Too much chitchat with famous peoples though. Show me the Horses!
I hope Trail Mix is going to be a series??!! I do not see anything about upcoming shows?!?! It would be great if you went around the country visiting with REAL horse people instead of famous horse peoples. Watching the show brought back that warm/fuzzy feeling that horses give you. Makes you just want to touch, smell, cuddle - touch there soft velvety nose -have them nuzzle you - have them itch thier head against you almost knockin you down Big Grin - Thier whinny to you when you head out to the barn. Thier greeting you with that warm airblowing from thier nose as they are telling you hello - talking to them and telling them all the most important things in your life and them listening to every detail - the smell of the barn - the smell of the leather - the complete freedom you feel when your on there back. Even the pleasure of mucking the stalls! OHHHHHHHH how I miss my horses. Makes me want to cry.

Cobaltt - (or anyone else here), I hope that this doesn't sound like an 'advertisement' it's not meant to be. A good friend and true horseperson, Mary Ann Kennedy, sounds right up your ally! She's just put out her second solo CD - "Hoofbeats, Heartbeats & Wings" and it's certainly worth checkin out (as well as her first: "The Trail Less Traveled." After losing her best friend, Tonka, to laminitis, she began her quest to find "a better way." Her website is www.maryannkennedy.com I wish that she had been on the show!

I enjoyed the show. I would like Animal Planet to educate people on the horse slaughter issue and show more Rescue Operations for the horses. Too many horses (foals, pregnant mares, young and middle aged hores that have alot of life left as well as the American Mustangs) are going to slaughter and it is important to educate people because so many do not know what is happening in this country. We lost +/- 85,000 horses to slaughter in 2005 and there is legislation that needs to be passed to ban this activity in our country. I would like to see Animal Planet take a stand on this issue and let people know what is going on under their noses and out of their tax dollars. Thanks.

I don't remember any morgans on the show, but i may have missed it because I was reading during it.

Morgans aren't gaited, but it's not totally unusual to think a gaited morgan might be born, considering many of the 17th and 18th century horses that the morgan is based on were or carried gaited genes.

phew, run on sentence!

Trusse29, I am with you on that. I wish the use of PMU would be outlawed.

The "host" was referencing gaited breeds and mentioned morgans..... I thought that to be a tad bit incorrect. I could be wrong though, I am not a morgan expert.

After seeing the commercials I was so excited about seeing this... but I only managed to get through the first hour before I lost interest.

As many have said, there was way too much about the stars - and most had nothing to do with their horses. It seemed like with most interviews horses were just background objects, a secondary feature. Even with Ronan - an accomplished horseman and breeder, they focused on other things.

There are plenty of stars out there who have horses as more than a status symbol, or once and a while hobby.
