Hi, my name is Joanne and I don't have Morgans, but I do have Lipizzans. A while ago there was a discussion on a list I belong to about crossing Lipizzans with other breeds and Lippitt Morgans were one of the breeds that were recomended by some as they were physically and behavioraly similar to Lipizzans. Lippitts are pretty rare aren't they?

Morgans are great horses. Small, strong and tough as nails. I used to be a horse show photographer and one of the coolest things I saw was a jump off between a little Morgan stallion and great big Thoroughbred. The Morgan blew the pants off the bigger horse, and his rider was a young girl who's birthday was on the same day as the jump off. How cool is that?

My first horse ever was a Morgan. I was 11 and I'll never forget the first time I saw him- solid pitch black, with a tail that dragged the ground and a big, full, dreamy mane. His name was Midknight Magic and he put up with me learning to w/t/c.

I don't own a morgan, but I know a few morgans that I adore. They are such a versitile, talented and willing breed. There is a lot of power in a small package though. They are a great breed

Big Grin I have a 25 yrold Morgan mare. She is the sweetest thing. Ive had her 12 yrs..mostly trail riding. She hates ring work but does it beautifully. She liked XC jumping. Sadly she had a laminitis 3 yrs ago so we are now limited to very short walks.

I don't own a Morgan, but I rode one last year for a lady. He was a sweety, but *cringes* quite an airhead. He liked going into what my trainer called "fairyland" and would just sway around not really caring what he was doing. I loved his strong body and he had a beautiful color, but I dare say I'd much rather have a smart QH than a Morgan.

yes i do...i show morgan's with garn walker stables...now im not gonna try and sound like im braggin or anything but, there are a few things i want to clarify about morgans, i show them in the morgan circut...i won reserve world champion hunter pleasure 13&under in oklahoma this year so i know alot about my breed....

1.morgans are not that small...15.1 is the average for a morgan and it is an average height for horses in general.
2.i am dissapointed in animal planet for the picutre of the "morgan" they have on here...it doesnt look like a correct morgan (i mean a morgans a morgan but if ur trying to explain the breed typically u put a picture of a correct morgan ya know..i dont got anything against non show morgans)
3.the colors were orginally black, chesnut, bay, and most solid colors...some are not accepted...
4.animal planet did not put driving down as one of its strengths...i know from showing morgans are made to pull a carriage or a cart and they love it.
5.morgans orginate from "figure" (justin morgan)he was thoght to be out of an arab and a TB so they r deffinately typically not stupid...they have TONS of personality...there isnt a buncha morgans that just stand there doing nothing...they always do somehting and they r ridiculously smart (they get it from the arab breeding) they love to please from the TB breeding

and i know some people probably dont believe me but you can look my standings up...my horse's name is "Talk of the Town LPS" ...saddlehorsereport.com will let u no if im real or not just type in my horses's name

dont mean to sound like a snob im sorry im just well informed and often bugged by the bad media and misleading things people here bout the breed!
