What builders are we missing?
Here's your chance to tell us who should face off in future Biker Build-Off episodes.
To propose a builder for the show, post his or her name, garage, city/state and URL below. We'll check him (or her) out!
Thanks,

There are two very good and deserving shops in the Denver Colorado area. Both of these shops competed in the Sturgis 2004 Rat Hole World competiton and placed well in their categories. Ortiz was the winner in it's class and LaFores finished in the top 8 of it's class. I think either of these two shops would show well in your competition. 1. Ortiz Custom Cycles 5535 W. Colfax Avenue Lakewood, CO 80214 303-239-0556 www.ortizcustomcycles.com2. LaFore's Custom Motorcycles 155 Sheridan Blvd. Lakewood CO 303-239-8317 [This message was edited by milehighrider on 10-29-04 at 12:23 PM.]

I would like to see them, Jason, the owner is one of the coolest guys I have met. I drove out from Colorado to see them, got lost in Austin and they stayed late on a Friday night just so I could meet them. I was then invited to a small BBQ that they were having on sunday for there friends. Not only do they build cool bikes that are innovative but they stay true to the old school way. I would like to keep seeing build-offs on a regular basis from Eddie Trotta, Russel Mitchell, Billy Lane, Paul Yaffe, Chika (I think I spelt his name wrong), Joe Martin, and Bourgette.
I THINK IT WOULD BE VERY COOL IF YOU COULD CONTACT HEINRICH GIGER, TO SEE IF HE WOULD AGREE TO DESIGN A BIKE. HE IS THE ARTIST WHO CREATED THE ALIEN CREATURE. GIGER IS TRUELY AN AMAZING ARTIST, AND HAS CONTEMPLATED DESIGNING A BIKE IN THE PAST. GIGER MAKES SOME PRETTY WILD FURNITURE AND SCULPTURES AS WELL. JUST DO A WEB SEARCH WITH HIS NAME, SOMETIMES HE IS REFERRED TO AS H.R. GIGER. HE HAS TWO WEB SITES THAT I KNOW OF, AND I LISTED THEM ON THE CHOPPER TALK BOARD UNDER THE POST: H.R. GIGER AND JESSE JAMES/BILLY LANE.

Mad Cycles in cheyenne. they make some sick bikes, and it would bee cool to see a metric Bike stand up against some of these v twins. A chopper with a 15 thousand rpm 200 hp 4 cyl capable of an easy 220mph would rock!

Only a few builders in the nation are capable of handmaking a motorcycle from scratch. Many builders can assemble, but very few can do all aspects of building. Aaron Greene of Paramount Custom Cycles in Reno, NV has to be one of the very best builders in the nation. He and his shop are capable of building bikes from scratch. From CNC machining, to frames, to paint. I did see him on an episode with Billy Lane against Dave Perewitz, but I never heard him mentioned. Also A.J. from Lucky's Choppers. His bikes are sick!!! Both of their ideas are unique and ahead of there time. Check em' out.

WOW! it's great to see the Discovery channel ask for intrest of it's fans,.. i like your choice to do just this!
i logged on as "El'Choppahead" as i log on as the same in "Club chopper" "chopper web""and my favorite site "CHOPPER UNDERGROUND",...
why is CU my fave?,... glad you asked!,..
this is a site devoted to what the chopper bublic missunderstands?,.. CHOPPERS,..
saddly this "chopper" craze or blooming market as we know it now is like most things, over sold to the point of saturation,..
NOW? who do we think should be filmed you ask?
i love watching billy lane go hard on a bike,. he's the best you've offered so far aside from indian larry (god rest his soul) and as you show things like arlin and cory ness? i can't help feel cheated as you call it GREAT BIKER BUILD OFF,.. not ASSEMBLE OFF! yes there is a difference and should be recognized as such!
as for builder resourses?,. you've hardly tapped them,. with small unknown hero's like "orange brothers" or "zero customs", not to mention some canadian shops like "precision frame worx" in calgary where billy lane has recently just visited and endorsed a friendship in the bike lifestyle you insist on broadcasting to the world
a small up-start shop like "poor boy's choppers" right in my home town, or a one man out fit called "fantom frame works" who just placed A best of show with the first crate indian motor ever sold,.. he has the last one sold as well
i welcome the effort discovery's put forth,. i was told it's ending and this saddens me a bit knowing that a lot of fans would tune into you filming a guy in a garage building a chopper,.. and if you look?,. you would find some very talented home builders that could give the pro's a run for the prize,..
in fact as a dare!,. find and pit a pro against a coupl of hobby guy's and see if the bar get's raised?,....
affter all?,. choppers are a blue collar man's hobby!

There is a little known shop located in Mitchell South Dakota that has been creating quite a buzz in the last couple of years. They are definitely worth a look. For Klock Werks' latest press pick up the November issue of V-Twin, Sturgis issue. Turn to page 57 the Master Builder article. Brian Klock and guys at Klock Works have been cranking out some of the hottest bikes on the scene. Klock Werks has just recently had bikes at the AMD Pro Show this month in California. Klock Werks was in the Artistry in Iron, Master Builders' Bike Show during the Las Vegas Bike Fest. Michael Lichter choose Klock Werks as one of the select few bike builders in the nation to join his Journey Museum Exhibit (Bobs Back)during this years Sturgis Rally. The guys from Klock Werks were chosen to take one of their creations to the Essen Motor Show in Germany this year. Need more info? Just ask me or check them out on the web. Klock Werks 915 S. Have to submit an old school builder that was featured in many Easyriders articles in the late 60's and early 70's. He has started building again and I assist (and learn). Gordon Chappel Gordon's Motorcycle Madness 1473 Tower Square Ventura, CA 93003 (805) 642-2100 www.harleysbygordon.com

I totally agree with Elchoppahead. There's more to building a great looking chopper than seeing who can slap on the most Billet Aluminum part's. Nor do you have to spend $50k when a great looking machine can be built for under $2k. What I would really like to see is getting a few of the extremely talented and knowledgeable Chopper enthusiast's/Hobbyist's out there and watching them take the "Barn find" and hand building, with their own sweat and money, no freebie's from sponsor's, some of the nicest chopper's/bobber's on the street today. Bike's that get riden hard and often and don't get trailered to event's. You wouldn't have to look very hard to find these type of men and women they are all over the place. Some of the most ingenious and genuinely helpful people I've met can be found at these site's http://www.chopperunderground.com http://hondachopper.com
