So about 5 months ago I got my first tattoo. I got an artist caligraphor in Bombay, INdia to write out the names of my wife and children in Hindi and then I had it made into an armband. Looks really cool and original.

Then I got my second tattoo, a custom made design that highlighted the fact that I'm Roman from Rome and was born and raised there.

A few weeks ago I got my third, a really cool design on my back taken from a piec eof antique Indian silverware. An intricate circular design. That one looks really cool. My wife will get a matching one on her lower back (she likes it that much.)

My problem is that I'm hooked now. I have another two things I'd really like tattooed on because they mean something to me. BUt everyone is telling me that my tattoos are very nice but that I should calm down before i'm covered.

Then I saw Miami Ink just by chance, and the addiction just grew.

Love watching the show. Garver is the coolest dude in there. Ami is a bit of a prick though, no? I mean seriously, perhaps TLC cast him for that very reason, to add spunk to the show, but if he talked to em the way he talks to the others I'd smack him across the head.

What I don't get about tattoos, at this point, is why so many people get these generic designs. Everyone has a dragon, a demon, a Koi fish etc. etc. What does that mean? Isn't that a kind of tattoo that someone might grow tired of? My tattoos, and I understand that this si just my personal preference, are totally original and are on me for a reason.

I'm always a bit amused when I'm getting a tattoo and someone walks in and asks for a cover up of some stupid looking tattoo or just browses through the sheets of generic stuff and selects a barbwire armband or yet another generic tribal shoulder tattoo. Isn't that like wearing the same brand of jeans as everyone else?

As for cover ups, I'm not sure I like the concept.

Sorry if this post is in the wrong section.

Love the show. Totally hooked. Another thing my wife and I can watch together along with Orange County Choppers, Pimp My Ride, Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm. The rest of the shit she watches drives me out of the room.
