This is my first time posting here just thought i would rant a little so here goes.I am from west tn and call Miami Ink wed (this week) talk to a lady to get the hours of the shop said I was going to come get a tat this weekend kool she gives me the hours.Problem i fly down here get there today and cameras everywhere.I can't even go in the shop.I wanted garver to give me a tat my first at that and I cant get anything done.This sucks the chick on the phone did not mention this.So my trip is wasted!

do you think those guys just take walk ins?? why didn t you try and make an appointment??

why would he think otherwise? Thats what they show on TV isnt it? They candy coat it to look like a walk-in welcome show. we know its not but how would someone that just came to the board know?

to me this seems like he DID call and nothing was said to him. maybe try cutting him some slack and lsten to his rant instead of jump on his back like so many people on this board in so many threads.

Unfortunately people do talk like that in real life. Fortunately it's people like us that buffer it. I am sorry your experience was like that. With the popularity of the show it would be hard just to walk in unless it is at night and on the weekend. That is when my best friend got hers done. Mine was done by Ami and by appt on camera too. So with fame you have bad and good. Did you at least get your tattoo done? Does it really matter who it is by but just that you got it done? Yeah, I totally agree that they are great artists but I was going to get my tat anyway with or without them. It was just luck that they called and I didn't find another tattooist to do it.
So, once again sorry for your bad luck.

first of all.. do you believe everything you see on tv?? if you do, you have problems!! if you assume it s a "walk-in welcome show" you must be ignorant..

second of all, it doesn t sound like he made it clear that he wanted to get tattoed by GARVER on his trip down.. he called and asked for the hours.. not to ask if he could get tattooed by them.. not for an appt.. there are other artists that work at night and on the weekend.. the lady that answered the phone is not a mind reader..

The point is, even if the person was naive that called, the person that answered the phone should have told her that that wouldn't be a good time or something to that effect.

Hope the cocktail peanuts were free on the flight home.

OK...so what you're saying is that you...Called the shop on Wednesday...flew down on Thursday...went to the shop on Friday and expected Garver to do a custom tattoo on you that very same day. You however didn't talk with Garver personally before you left home to see if his schedule was free but none the less you spent hundreds of dollars to fly to Miami!!! ... mmmmmmm ... Now lets think about this....somewhere common sense is just dying to come into play here.....

I'm sure they get calls all the time asking about hours. Had this person asked about an appointment, a wasted trip could have been avoided.

When I went to Miami Ink in April for my first tattoo they were filming then as well. Found out they will be filming through October, however, got to see Garver at work through the windows and Yoji did come out and talk to a few of us. I had to decide whether to go ahead with the tat or just go home. I elected to go ahead because the artists that work at night are all friends and relatives of the cast of the show. Glad I did. It was a great experience and was a neat feeling to be in that very space that we see on television each week. Also, if you plan on getting inked, don't forget to take lots of your hard earned cash. Not a cheapie place by any means!

Yeah, cuz we all like to call places to ask about their operating hours just for kicks.

Typically, if I call the barber to know his operating hours, its cuz I want a hair cut, not because I care (well, I do, but ya know)

Well, when they're not filming, they've said they take walk-ins. On their myspace pages, they;ve mentioned this. So, Itweight, you're not crazy....think of it as a trip to miami...you never had intentions of going to the shop. capiecse(sp)? =)

I understand what you're saying, but remember, these guys are "famous". I'm sure they get people stopping in all the time just to "see" them.

I'm the amount of people who call to get info that are also wanting to get a tattoo is much much greater than the amount of people who call just because they want to hang with some minor celebs
