hi, all nicola from england here, just wondering if it hurts to have a tattoo on the ankle, got two others, can someone let me know

I don't have one there myself, but from what I've heard it's one of the more sensitive spots.

Anywhere that is boney, ie: ankle, spine, ribcage.. is going to hurt more than a fleshy part of your body.

I do have a tattoo around my ankle and it definitely hurts. My ankle swelled up & hurt for a few days but in the end it is worth it (at least for me)....hope this helps!!!

it does hurt a little - right when you get close to the bone. I 've had my ankle tattoo for 15 years and I still remember when the needle was close on the ankle. Yikes! It was worth it though - I think they tattoos hurt a little any place you put them.

My most recent tattoo is on my ankle. It goes across the top and then down the outside. It hurt when my artist got close to the tendin and across the top of the bone.
It didn't hurt enough not to get another though

Hell yeah it hurt....but it was worth it. I love my anklet.

My first and third tattoos are both on my inner ankle.

When I first got them, I didn't think that they were all that painful.

I've since had the first tattoo covered up. Part of the design had the artist tattooing over that little, nubby bone that sticks out of your ankle... and another part goes directly over the back of my ankle (think achilles heel). THAT hurt

Like others have said, boney areas are bound to hurt more than fleshy ones... but even then, pain is tolerated differently by everyone
