I have had psoriasis since I was 2. I also have multiple tats, and can tell you that they will not affect your psoriasis. There is a new med out called "Olux". It's a topical foam, no smell or discoloration. You will not be able to get a tat on any affected areas; the ink will not hold. (To those who don't know, psoriasis is a skin condition that is caused by the body reproducing skin cells every 3-10 days, causing a buildup of skin cells that appear as white, scaly patches. Normal skin cells will reproduce and slough off every 28 days or so). Also, this may sound like bad advice, but it was given to me by 2 dermatoligists- start going tanning. Don't burn yourself or get all Paris Hilton orange. Go for 10 mins 3 times a week, and it will make the spots go away. Also, to those who are freaking out, it is not contagious. So get tatted, but not on the spots. And ask about Olux. You can also go to a derm that has a UVA/UVB booth and that will help. For scalp problems, use Rx Nizoral. Hope that helps!
I have a question I watched the episode where they had the shop party and Darren Brass did a tattoo on a girl, it was grafitti and was two words made into one image that could be read from two different directions. What was the name of the type of tattoo or drawing that it was?

Does anyone know when Miami Ink starts filming?? I heard April-Sept. I am going to Miami in April for my b-day and I would like to maybe get a tattoo from one of the guys. I heard they do it when the cameras aren't running. I have met Chris Garver. He is such a cool guy. I would love to get a tattoo from him for Ami.
dragonflyy - casting is the only way you'll get a tat from anyone on the show.
Only alternative is if they are either working out of their own studios OR if you happen to be lucky enough to catch them at a convention or somewhere else.
Miami Ink have excellent artists that work off camera and you don't need an appointment
nicolapicola, if you don't mind taking a number and waiting your turn you will get a tattoo at Miami Ink BUT I highly doubt it will be from any of the artists that appear on the show unless you are selected via casting.

Well I got a tattoo on my trip to Florida...but not at Miami Ink. I guess I should have read their MySpace board but I listened to the girl who answered the phone about 2 months ago when she said that the shop would open at noon on the date I wanted come. No mention of filming during that time period!
Anyway, my hubby and I went down to Miami and got there right at noon. We were almost in the door when this guy said "Hey, Hey...You can't go in there!". Turns out that the people who we thought were homeless and staying out of the rain in the doorway of a neighboring store were the film crew! Huh!
We were told to come back at 9 that night. While standing there 2 other people came up and were told the same thing. I wasn't going to drive back to Miami at night during Spring Break for a chance to get a tattoo there. I didn't want to be more upset than I already was.
My advice...check the myspace site for filming times and dates. Be patient and have plenty of time in the Miami area to be flexible.
I have a friend who lives in Ft. Lauderdale. She and her husband went to the shop on a Saturday and said it was packed! There was a 2-3 hour wait just to talk to one of the artists.
Anyway, I did go to a great shop in Ft. Lauderdale and will warn against another shop down in Miami and close to Miami Ink. If anyone wants my opinion of that shop e-mail me off the list. We're here to discuss Miami Ink and not other shops.

To x6kinkiibunnie9x Tattoos are priced per tattoo. There is a minimum of $200 for any tattoo. I read someone paid $1600 for about 4 hours of work, so about $400 per hour I would say.

To kentrizdale: Hard to tell without seeing the actual stretch marks, but most tattoo artists feel comfortable tattooing someone with stretch marks. Best bet is make an appointment with a local artist and get first hand info.

why do the guys on the show not do any tattoos in yhe shop. I resently visisted the shop and was able to get a tattoo but not by the artist that I hoped to get it from and I was very disappointed by that. I had drived several hundred miles to get the tattoo by nunez but was not able to. I am pleased with the tattoo that I did get in the shop but it wasn't the same.
You should of been an informed and smart consumer and read up on the TV SHOW before driving so long to get there.
Had you read up on this TV SHOW, you would of known that its not guaranteed that the guys are there all the time, and there is a big crew of other artists there when the show isn't taping.

On the show, there is a clip of a female skull (it is a chick that has long hair and long eyelashes, it is played either in the beginning credits or during the commercials), I am wondering how I can find it...I have been trying to draw up something same as the image I have seen, but it just isn't as good as the one I want.
