My sister is in Miami right now, and went there to have a tat done on her ribcage. She specifically went to Miami for the music fest and to get a tat done by either Nunez or Garver. Darrin was the one who waited on her and was extremely rude and didnt seem to want anything to do with helping her out with the lettering. He basically brushed her off and didnt seem to care less about her traveling that far (from Chicago) just to have the honor of them doing her tat. A bunch of us here watch the show and are huge fans, but I wont have any part in supporting a bunch of egomaniacs who could care less about their customers. My friends and I will continue to watch LA INK because Kat is the best talent out of any of them, and she knows how to treat her customers. A friend flew to LA just to have Kat do a tat for her and she was really nice and bent over backwards for her. SO, TLC, your Miami Ink has lost at least 30 viewers here in Chicago, and more are soon to follow once they hear of the treatment the guys give their customers once the cameras arent rolling.
So she showed up to have a tat done by either Nunez or Garver, but was helped by Darrin. If she wan't sure who she wanted to do her ink, I doubt she was prepared to tell them what she wanted. Did she also give them the honor of telling them she was coming? I believe she specifically went for the music fest and decided maybe to get a tattoo while she was there, just for the awe factor. Did she even check to see if those 2 were available? When was the last time you walked into a docotrs office to get "elective" surgery and the doctor was there at the desk waiting for you and dropped everything he was in the middle of to make sure all your needs were attended to? Was he maybe busy, in the middle of another client or was your sisters disappointment so obvious that she took it out on the first person that talked to her? Um and I really doubt TLC cares whether you and your 30 friends watch or not. Look at the wreck they call LA Ink and the number of people that trash that show and yet it continues. And to say that Kat is the best artist out of all of them says maybe she should have gone to LA instead and got a Kat tracing. Or was Kat too busy as well? Go here to see what other artists are capable of http://www.tattooartists.org/ and then tell us how great Kat is. thanks for stopping by.
I find it quite interesting that you thought he "didn't care less that she traveled all the way from Chicago". Where someone comes from shouldn't matter at all- it's the client's CHOICE to travel, period. As far as him "helping her" with the lettering, maybe as to size and/or placement as it affects the overall design is OK- but if she expected him to tell her what font, etc., etc., it sounds like maybe she just walked in and expected him to come up with the design out of the blue, with no input from her. Any custom tattoo, especially done with a talented artist, is best done when it is a true collaboration between artist and client...with the client having a CLEAR idea and plan in place for the artist to bounce off of. My tattoos are not particularly intricate or large, but when I went in for my appointment, I knew EXACTLY what it was I wanted, right down to the placement, approximate size, and colors. And I brought artwork and illustrations to aid in my consultation. I just let my artist improvise a little on that, as he is very much an ARTIST, and I am not! This way, I got what I envisioned, only better!
WHO CARES IF THEY LOST 30 FANS FROM CHICAGO.THERE IS A LOT OF US HERE IN CHICAGO WHO ARE LOYAL FANS OF THE GUYS. I HAVE MET GARVER AND NUNEZ AND THEY COULDN'T HAVE BEEN NICER.THEY TREAT THEIR FANS AND CUSTOMERS WELL.I KNOW PEPOLE WHO HAVE WENT TO MI AND SAID THAT THEY WERE VERY NICE AND WOULD FOR SURE GO BACK AND GET ANOTHER TAT FORM THEY SHOP.TRUE FANS WILL STAY TRUE TO THE SHOW
first of all...if you just pop into to miami ink & darren was there you are extremely lucky! They are hardly there unless they are filming. My daughter received a tat from darren and it is for the miami ink show. They told us then that it is highly unlikey you can walk in and get any of the shows artists. they have a whole different staff that does tats for the walk ins. Besides that darren is very nice and laid back. he is a sweetheart!
would anyone have sneak peak knowledge my daughter is suppose to be on any date now and we are not sure how to find out.... thanks alot!
