SO can anyone tell me why there is no listing or phone number or address or any other information leading to a legit business in Miami under the name Miami Ink? THe address 1344 washington ave and the phone number 305 531 4556 is under ART ATTACK Tattoos but they claim to be Miami ink. I talked to a guy who claimed to be Chris Garver but I'm not sure it was him and I didn't investigate until later when I became suspicious. Is Chris in CA or FL? Anyone have more info to clear up this discrepency?
No - the shop is not a hoax. If go where the photos are posted - you will see pictures of a tattoo done by for a woman who posts here with pictures of Chris Nunez. Chris has a shop in LA called True Tattoo as well as tattooing for the shop in FL. The shop was Merlin's - you will have to wait until someone who has actually been there posts what name is on the outside now.
I live in Naples Florida about an hour or so away. I was going to take a trip down to see whats there for myself. I will bring my Camera and post a few pictures of the shop.
Well seeing as some girl on here posted pictures of her getting tattoed by Nunez,Nunez and Yogi, and the Miami Ink sign, and there are some people on here that have been on the show and have been tatooed by them I'm pretty sure it's not a hoax. It would be kind insencere if it is.

I have the same question as "wickedink", can't find Miami Ink anywhere and I too was wondering if it was just done for the TV show. My girlfriend and I want to fly down from NJ and get our tattoos done, but we are having no luck. I guess I'll wait to see what luck wickedink has by driving there and checking it out in person. Let us know if the artists are really there and if you do go, if you could please post the address and phone number that would be awesome. Thanks.
Hey Wickedink... scroll down a bit there are threads posted by Jorgie with the phone number and address and the whole process on how to book an appointment. Glosslave was in last weeks episode so unless her tattoo is a figment of her imagination the place it real.
Really I dont care if it's miami ink or wickedink I am just wondering how to get this jorgie guy and get an appoinment for Ami? Any info? We had some fraud travel agencie rip us off on our wedding and did a Steve Miller and took our money and ran.... So we are going to do the miami and Fla Keys thing for our honeymoon. Just wondering how to book an apt when we are down there?
O. K people don't get your Tat's in twist! I just wanted to get someone/everyone's attention since I DID do a GOOGLE search as well as look throught the Miami phone book and Call friends who live in Miami. You get plenty of info on the show but nothing outside of that. No direct business line or advertisements. I never suggested that these people of their work do not exist just under different circumstances that we are led to beleive on the show. But since I only live an hour away I won't have to rely on anyone or anything other than to drive to Miami and find out first hand. So I will post my findings or I just might end up being part of the show. Not that I want to I would rather there were no cameras distracting the artist who is puting his perminate mark on me! Oh yeah, Has anyone noticed the shots of the front window are different? Either there is a front and back glass entrance with different graphics with the address number and without or its filmed in two locations.
I was on the show "the family" these are real guys/ girl and none of its fake i'm a high school teacher so i can tell the difference-and the camera s there would never mess up any of them i didnt even notice them after a while- don't hate them cause u aint them much love
Sorry if I sound negative but it is just the opposite I want to get a large piece done from Chris Gaver and then maybe just possible by each of the guys if I can afford it. I just have been a goverment employee to long and trust me when I say nothing is every what it appears to be. Sounds like I could be wrong so I am still going to make the trip and hope all goes well. Thanks to all that replied to my post many have seemed to be honest and sincere! Thanks!
i had my fathers cross put on me with his name- i wanted other things but chris was good enough to tell me that it wouldnt look right in a couple of years- i mean come on if it was all for tv- he would have done it..ya feel me
Thanks Jorgie, I sent you an email asking for directions and time frame so I can come in and go over the work I would like and get an idea of the cost. This way I can see the shop before hand and leave my deposit. Thanks!
Soccorchick that was you??? Welcome to the board. I have to tell you that your segment was really important to me. Not only was it very touching, it taught me to trust the artist and let them guide you. Thanks for being open and allowing us in to a part of your life.
Soccerchick, thanks for joining our little family here. By the way, your tattoo was awesome. It was also great that you got to spend those last few days with your Dad before he passed. My Dad has also passed, and I am getting a memorial on my back for him (and to cover up a really bad tattoo that I've had for years!). Good luck, and stay strong - it does get better...
When I was a freshman at UMiami, I had my first tattoo done at the shop that "Miami Ink" is filmed. Of course back then (1997) it was not Miami Ink, but it did still have the "TATTOO" neon sign above the shop. As you walked in, to the right (where the wooden desk is now) was a body art glasstop counter. There were about 5 chairs on the right side of the room and a huge gallery of artwork on the left wall. The place is real and yes, it is on Washington Ave. There are a few thrift stores across the street and a hardware store I believe (if they are still there). Club Madonna was just down the street as well on the other side (across from "Miami Ink"). So if you ask does the place exist, yes it does. Btw, I had a gecko/lizard put on my shoulderblade. Great artwork.
Hi Wickedink The shop is there and the people are real. Iwas down there on july 3rd and had my work done by garver. My episode was the one where i got my cats memorial done on my chest. And right now if i remember reading right that garver is out of town until september sometime. He does still have his place in cali so im sure he has to go and make hisself be seen there. Me and the wife are thinking of going after the first of the year to get work done together.
Hello to all First i called the number posted that i found on another website The same number and address posted here, at first there was a answering machine stating maimi ink (about a week ago). Tonight i called and spoke with a live person named Guy and he said that i needed to mail my ideas along with a money order for $100 in the name of 305 Ink not ART ATTACK. So with this i advise everybody to be very awawre. I do think these guy's are out there but some folks are trying to take advantge of the show.
305 Ink is the business name of Miami Ink. Guy is very much a real person and does indeed work at the store. They are only taking appointments with a money order to secure the appointment because the shop is very busy. Garver, Ami, Chris or Darren are extremely unlikely to pick up the phone, so don't expect them to. The phone will usually be answered by Jorgie, Guy or Kendra.
There is still alot of unanswered questions and it really should not be that big of a deal. This after all is a T.V show. Thes guys obvioulsy had something that TLC felt they were the guys to use for their show. But let us not forget that there are many talented people out there who strive to be the best at what they do Namely tattoos in this case. Don't overlook the artist in your area just because you are caught up in a TV show. If you can't get an appointment or can't fly to Miami don't let that stop you from getting work done by a professional who strives to be the best at his chosen career. These guys and TLC have brought further acceptence to the tattoo community but don't let them be the only reason you choose to get a tattoo. It's like saying you want to buy a new motorcyle because you watched American Chopper and think there bikes are better than the rest. I can tell you first hand that is not true. Do your homework then go out there and feel good about your decision even if your not on the next Miami Ink. Myself I will continue to get tattooed and if I end up at Miami ink its not because there was no other place and it certianly wouldn't be the last tattoo I ever get. Just something to think about!
Ok very wierd, but as I'm reading through this thread and hearing about Soccerchick's tattoo, I figure out that I'm watching the episode with her in it!!! They haven't done the tattoo yet, but I'm excited to see it now!
I was planning a trip this holiday weekend but as usual things came up. Never fear though, I will get there and share with everyone what I find. I really look forward to getting some work done its been awhile and I need to make this a priority. Miami Ink or Bust!
Thers a wickedink in ontario. Are you an employee or the owner or somthing. No offence, but I heard they don't do very good work. I've seen it and i wasn't impressed.
Like I said, no offence (if you are somehow offiliated).
I went -it's legit. Was vacationing in Ft Lauderdale this weekend and drove to South Beach. Was walking around, hitting some tattoo shops on Collins and Washington and looked up and instantly recognized the place. I almost didn't recognize it because there is mega utility works going on so the street is really torn up.
I talked to some guy named Morgan (?) who gave me a quote for a walk-in tribal job. I'm not a fan of the show and haven't really watched it but there was a chick there with dark hair and black plastic glasses. She has no problem chowing on chinese food in front of customers.
There was supposedly some other artist working that day named Permanent Mark. I picked up business cards: the shop is called 305 Ink. There was a second card titled "Miami Ink" containing only the work "casting" and a 786 phone number in which a reverse-lookup yields that it belongs to Christian Dercone (I don't know the name....is he on the show?).
I elected to not proceed with the tat because the price was twice what everyone else has quoted and the shop was extremely distracting (people popping in constantly and the phone ringing nonstop). Cool place, though. The portfolios contained some quality work.
haha. miami ink is real, i went there while they were filming. although the show is called miami ink, i had to look up the shop address under 305 ink in yellowpages..i think...it was a while ago, but it's not a hoax.
Yep. It's for real. I was on the show and got a hearse tattoo from Ami. The show is called "Miami Ink" and the shop was called "305 Ink" at the time. I met all of the guys, they are honest-to-God real, living, breathing guys.
Hey everyone I was wondering myself, if Miami Ink was actually a shop as a classmate told me it was all a hoax... I hope not as my mum and I are hoping to fly out to miami for my eighteenth to get work done together...
They also have a shop on 1360 Washington Ave Tattoos &Choppers and they have a MySpace www.myspace.com/lovehatetattooshop They need to do another season.
Lets talk about the bar NOW is it http://rmgmiami.com ??? and thats called lovehate
and as for ami saying he dislikes corporate america in season 4, thats kinf of funny when the credits roll and they have several staff who are employed by the title corporate. I'm sure there job is to filter out the account and finance from the show really, but still thats one of those easter eggs to chat about. As for MI being a hoax well thats daft. I loved the forth series and its the only one i have watched but its given me plenty of ideas about my next appointment.
Im andy age 27 from england. I would love to get a shoulder peice done by chris but cant afford the flights. I cant find anyone in england who is even close to being as good as chris ami nunez and kat. I think chris does it for me his work is PERFECT. I would love to get some design ideas from chris. I suppose if i cant afford to go over and get inked, instead, do you think i could purchase some designs from him (not flash 1 off design). If so where do i start in getting intouch with him so i could tell him what i want i tried his offical website but e-mail wont work with my email. im not a stalker or a tattoo artist. I just want his work on my back.
