I really liked her on Miami Ink, but her new show seems to be more about her and her friends acting sexy, than tattoos. I saw the preview last night of the newest one coming up, and she's out clubbing and hanging all over someone. Plus all the pics you see of her, she looks like she's posing for a centerfold. I guess her new show is basically to drag the male population in, as viewers.
Agreed Jenn! That just shows the difference between the two.
With the guys from Miami, it was never about garish, pretensious interviews on tv, looking good for the camera, or the overly drawn out Hollywood drama. It was and still is about the clients and the tattoos they are getting.
In La Ink, the focus has shifted radically from the awesome tattoos to how small Kat thinks her ta-tas are. That's a joke, right? Come on, her shop looks like a funhouse with the skate ramp, photo booth, pink walls, and dancing pole. Do you know what they have at the Miami shop? Tattoo machines.
Yes you are both right! Get back to the basics, tattoos and the stories behind them. I don't want to hear about surgeries (of any kind), new albums that clients are peddling, and I definitely don't want to hear about SteveO
I watched the first episode but couldn't stomach to watch until the end of the second.
She was great on MI. She was more down to earth, regular kind of person who you felt you could chat with, approach about ink and whatever. Now she is all glitz and glam, she totally slimmed down (looked hotter before IMO) and has this rock star attitude which really is not attractive.
While the artists on the show are great, and she herself is a good artist, I feel the show does nothing to spotlight tattoos, the art or the ink.
My gripes with MI is that they were focusing more on the shop and Ami and Chris and how they run their lives vs the tattoos. If thats the direction they wanted to take, fine. Their choice, not what I want, so I move on.
Sad to see what Kat has continued in the same vein as MI.

I think that one thing you left out is that L.A. Ink seems to be Kat saying "Look at the famous person coming to see me". Every commercial you see shows some new celeb getting ink from her. At least I could go to Miami Ink and not get turned away for not being famous. I like that they tattoo people like me.
Daisy, you know how much I hate to say this but I think you are right. Man, I looked so forward to Kat's show because I loved her on Miami Ink. And how many times did I say, "You gotta love Kat"?
proves kat wasn't right for the miami ink scene and parting was necessary.but people please... you know you are still gonna watch both shows!it's about tattooing no matter how bad or good!we are all smart enough( i hope) to see beyond all the b.s.
I have just endured the last full episode of the Kat loves Kat show. I just can't do it anymore. I will continue to look for the episodes on torrent or youtube, but will FF through all the Kat nonsense. TLC needs to lose her. WTF is an Orbie? Do these people have to wear sunglasses 24/7? And who/what is some purple haired child to be giving advice on Kats love life when it doesn't even know what sex it is? This show, to me, has "jumped the shark".
Haha, ofcourse all of them in the shop did everything to look good on tv....They are flirting with all the girls (the pretty one) and I`m loving it! So Chris, where are U?!
MI is the best and LA ink needs to be canceled! I can not stand the show, I have seen a few shows to give a chance but it just does not work. Kat needs to grow up and learn to be an adult, if she wishes to run a buisness.
I liked Miami Inkand I do Like LA ink. They both have their pros and cons.. Miami Ink Ami was an A$$ to just about everyone.. And yes LA ink focus's on Famous people but if that is what brings in the big Money than keep doing it I guess. and she does do Tats for non famous people too. It's all about your story and if you want to be on the show.. It's just more Famous people flock to LA rather than Miami... Like I said before I like both shows.
I don't want to get all defensive for Ami again, but come on. He's not an a$$ to everyone. He has a good side, like when he's with Sydney and Bella...lol.
Anyway, I think LA Ink has had it's fifteen minutes, now for more MI!
With LA Ink I felt like I had to give myself a little pep talk to watch it, kinda convince myself to watch it but I don't. I feel that you have to willingly want to watch a show and not ask yourself 'Maybe I should or should not?".
If I hear her say "rad", "dude" or "gnarly" one more time,I am seriously going to vomit. I wanted to give this show a real try,and have but it's too fluffy for me....juvenile at best. It's a shame actually, she's portraying females and tattoos like some sort of fan-girly side show. Bring back the Miami boys please.
