Have been overseas for awhile and now I come back and Kat has her own show. No biggie other than Miami Ink has been pulled out from under my feet. Think Kat is an extremely talented artist. That said, bad decision to think it qualifies as a show. Much more to it than a lot of talent. Not only does Miami Ink have a boat load of talent, they have the diverse personalities that LA Ink does not. On Kat's show, they are all like....Kat. Best of luck to her and "family" in LA, BUT I want my Miami Ink back! TLC....make it happen!
Nov. 6th, people...Nov. 6th. It can't come soon enough! For those who don't watch Kat's LA Ink, she made TWO mistakes on a tattoo last night...she misspelled the Italian word "famiglia" putting the Spanish "familia" instead, then put "idolo" instead of the word "eroe" (NOT sure of the correct spelling there myself), the client wanted the Italian word for HERO, not idol. The guy was honoring his Italian grandfather with a portrait tattoo, and wanted those words in phrases above and below the picture. I bet Grandpa will not be pleased to see a Spanish word in his Italian portrait!

The Italian word for hero is 'eroe' like you said. The guy who got the tattoo didn't notice??
While looking through my newspaper this morning, I discover that KVD will appear on the Ellen show this afternoon....first David Letterman and now Ellen? Even if I'm home in time, I'm not sure I'm up for another segment of her squeaky laugh and incessant "dude, stoked and rad".....once was enough.
The interesting thing to me is that I have never seen or heard of the MI guys on the talk show circuit and MI does just fine. Could it be that the MI fan base was not enough to support this spin-off?

More like the MI fan base is loyal to MI and never had an interest in seeing KVD starring in her own show.....and I agree that the MI guys never had to make talk show appearances as much as KVD is doing now...could it be that the initial high ratings for LA Ink are dropping as the weeks go by?
I think that just goes to show the immense differences between the two shows.
Miami Ink was more about conveying stories and real meanings behind all these diverse people and their tattoos. The guys in Miami were never about garish, pretensious interviews, or guest appearances. They were and still are about giving people awesome tattoos. It's not about Hollywood glitz and glamour, stripper poles in the shop, skate ramps in the shop, or photo booths in the shop. They have tattoo machines in their shop. That's more appealing to me. Not the flashy Hollywood drama.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not discrediting any of the artists on LA Ink, they are all amazing. It just seems that the focus has shifted radically from the awesome tattoos to how small Kat thinks her boobs are. Are you kidding me? And don't get me started on the cleanliness (or lack thereof) at High Voltage.
Anyway, so no I don't think this show will continue much farther simply due to the fact that wherever Kat is, immaturity ensues. And yes, the guys can be immature at times, but at least they keep it real and work out of a tattoo shop and not a funhouse.
I AGREE..BRING BACK MIAMI INK, IT IS A SHAME THAT WE HAVE TO INDURE KAT AND HER CREW TRYING TO BE LIKE THE MIAMI INK GUYS, GIVE IT UP YOU DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE, YOU NEED DIVERSITY AND IT SEEMS LIKE LA INK HAS NONE...I DO HOW EVER THINK THAT ALL THE ARTISTS MIAMI AND LA ARE VERY TALENTED BUT IF IT'S NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT....BRING BACK MIAMI INK.....
Hi... newbie here, first posting. I live in the Uk and love Miami Ink... I knew Kat had left, but didnt realise she now had her own show... will it be shown over here in the Uk on Sky TV? Thanks..
wow, to be non kat fans you guys know a lot about her and her doings...as far as talk shows you have to be interesting and now... kats all over the place mags, shows,t.v., radio...she was fortunate enough to become very popular and famous...like her or not shes it now...p.s. before you all bug out: both shows are good.. enjoy
I like the boys much better then the girls!! I miss Miami Ink!!! I love Kat's portraits and would love to have one...but I'd just rather watch the guy's. They are a lot more interesting then Kat's crew; I think anyway.
Do they still have they're shop in Miami? I know the last episode I watched Nunéz was clashing big time with Ami. I haven't heard anything since.

OH OK I missed this going through the posts! So they will be back November 6th? Whew!! I thought they dumped them. I agree can't come soon enough.
I think the client should make sure HE/SHE has the correct spelling before he walks into the shop!
I agree with you that a client should come in prepared, but the artist should ALWAYS check spelling and word translation before completing the work. As for the Nov. 6th MI return date, it was published in TV Guide. One more month of Kat's train wreck of a show...the guys are definitely more fun to watch!
