Ok, I know many people are upset about this issue. That's ok, because sometimes things happen that we don't like. Boo hoo.
I will not watch LA Ink (what an original title!). I will not support a chick that disrespects a shop that I have been a fan of since the beginning. Yes, she is a good portrait artist. No doubt, I will give her that. But the guys in Miami Ink are older and wiser than she is. Even if Garver ends up leaving, I'll get over it. It started with the guys, I'm gonna stick with the guys.
She can go be a selfish, limited artist in LA. If you want to watch that, go ahead. But I'm gonna watch real artists take care of their clients...at MIAMI INK.
Woot! You tell 'em! I'm glad there are people like you out there who will stand up and say what you think. We don't need to all be feeling sorry for Kat.

Oh boy.... There is so much wrong with this post. Kat is already more successful as an artist and has more respect in the tattoo industry then Ami James will ever get. Just say your biased and be done with it.
People who work in the "actual" tattoo industry just laugh at us who are not and comment on this crap.
Wait a minute, define "real artist". Kat's not a real artist? And how is she "limited" by working in L.A. and not Miami? You know the Miami shop was only created to tape the show, right? It's not a real place like Orange County Choppers was before TLC started taping a show there. Even when on the show, Kat did most of her work in L.A. and Dallas. And where do you get the idea the new show will be about nothing but portraits? You don't think the other shop will have the equivalent Darren, Garver, etc., each tattooing in their own style? Of course you shouldn't feel sorry for Kat, she got her own show. But the irrational hate-ons i see in some of these posts are silly.
Let the little diva wannabe go do portraits in L.A. I definetly won't watch LA ink just because of her. The real talent will be in miami. What's she gonna do when the bills need paid and she won't do work cuz it's not a portrait? She'll starve and the shop will close. She needs a reality check!

um, yeah. Honestly, I got tired of seeing the portraits, she wasn't even doing religious pieces anymore, which were what really blew me away. I go to bmezine every now and then and see lots of different artists making great portraits.
Now Garver, that man is unreal, that and I wished they showed a lot more Darren Brass.

You dont know what you're talking about. Kat was a successful artist before joining the cast of Miami Ink, and has done thousands of tattoos that aren't portraits - in color too.
I've commented in a couple of places in the forum that the whole KAT thing was overdramatized adn was most likely done as a promotion... this was before the last show of the season.
I KNOW this is TV and I KNOW that a lot of the stuff that makes the air is staged, but on the off chance that this particular item was NOT staged... it's worth mentioning.
While doing the arm piece with the "dark" latin inscription, she was badmouthing the shop to a client WHILE IN THE SHOP!
Again, this may have been staged as a setup for her departure, but if it wasn't it shows a lot if disrespect and immaturity.
In NONE of my comments have I made any references to KAT's artistic ability... she does some great work. I think she just needs to grow up a little bit.

I am starting to think the only true delusional kiddo on this forums is the one who keeps bashing every kat fan and calling them kiddos delusional all the time. You like Miami Ink you get all hot and bothered by your man there fine but bashing everyone who does not share your opinion is getting kinda old do you not think. Lets grow up alittle. This is a stupid thread....I think there was tension between the two and I think they both wanted to go separate ways. I think they scripted the firing rather than letting Kat quit to create tension so viewers would stay interested in both shows. People thrive on drama and they know this. As far as Kat being talented..she is. She partipated in an international show that was invitational only just last Oct. and I saw the artist list and she was the only M.Ink artist on it. The best of the best in the world get invited to this show. I like the M.Ink artists and I like Kat as well...everyone is a talented artist and this is ONLY TV. Don't get so fired up gods sake.

Well said Ruby. I have to admit I was not a happy person when I realized Kat was leaving, and I do think Ami was rough on her, but lordy pete! It's a TV show that these guys are being paid for!!! Kat has explained things on her MySpace and I'm happy she'll be having her own show based in LA. That's just more great tattooists for me to watch. I modst definately will keep watching Miami Ink. They're still a talented bunch of guys and I LOVE their work.

I think that Miami Ink was a good show and I have been watching from the begining. All of the artist are wonderfully talanted, but Chris Graver and Kat are by far my favorites. I believe Ami himself is a immature, self-pitying, angy-guy which makes for good TV. When it comes to skills Graver and Kat are the ones to watch. Since Kat has her own show It will be AWESOME!! I hope that Graver goes with Kat b/c why stay at a shop where the boss can not solve a simple conflict without raising his voice, cursing and getting angry, that was Ami's failure as the Boss. He did not speak to Kat with respect. YOU MUST GIVE RESPECT TO GET RESPECT and as the boss Ami should have known that.
sorry, I believe Kat is a far better artist than Ami will ever be, and I will watch LA Ink, it won't be all about portraits, get real. Ami is cocky and is always pick pick picking, and so what if Kat had some days where she wasn't crazy about Miami, she brought a lot to that shop, no one but Chris N was behind Ami. He did not handle the situation properly, and he says he's more mature and that when you are older you should automatically be respected, excuse me you gain peoples respect, you do not demand it. I think Ami is intimidated by Kat, and she really will be more popular and more successful than he will ever be able to be because she is a far better artist, and she has great style. We all make mistakes and we all have days when we are not happy about this and that and things are said in the trenches, he should have had a heart to heart with her, waited for the heat of the moment to subside before he made a very bad decision, cause she will steal his thunder. Just my opinion, and while I do enjoy this show and enjoy the other artists immensly, I think that Ami is the weakest artist of the bunch, Chris garver rocks, as do the rest of the guys and for Chris N to just blindly stand by Ami shows me that he maybe has no mind of his own. Ami always puffs up his chest and acts all big and cocky, he really is small and insig
