No worries, I wasn't laughing at you. It just struck me as funny because Jorgie is mentioned in quite a few threads and people who have called the shop have spoken to her. You're very smart to be hesitant to give out your money without proof.

i have tried to answer all questions when i can. but i understand there will always be a doubt because i am not on camera. well if you do ever happen to go to the shop sometime you will see that not everyone that works there is on film.

I know this sounds kinda stupid but what are the tattoo rates? I plan on coming all the way from Michigan and I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into.
What kind of tattoo would you be getting...hours it would take...time to draw it up...size. Hard drawing/Easy drawing....all this stuff matters.

Jorgie, I am not questioning your integrity. It's the internet. There are people all over the place trying to claim that they are something that they aren't. It just so happened that this was the very first thread that I opened coming into the forum. I definately believe you, and I am laughing at how silly I was.
i have emailed jorgie about setting up an appt i cant wait to hear back i want ink from chris garver i am willing to travel all the way down from vermont.The problem up here is everyone has all the same looking tats cause all the artist are generically the same.I take a great interest in the work those guys do at miami ink the styles are so much greater than the artists i know.i look forward to getting some real ink done

Are you kidding? So basically it is going to be next to impossible to get in!! Getting a walk in appointment is like getting walking into the white house! Plus I wanted Garver to design something up for me.

My advice would be to call Garver's shop in L.A. to see if you can get on his waiting list. He's not always at the shop in Miami.
Hey, thanks so much for the info!! If I contact them, will they help to get ahold of him to set up in Miami? I just called them and the guy said to call tomorrow and talk to Alex or Connie........do you know if they will allow me to set up an appointment with him at Miami Ink??
Luvs honey...aaaaahhh...how do I say this nicely. NO...No they aren't gonna help you in LA to make appt in Miami. Garver is only in Miami during filming of each Season. They have been on holiday since Dec. but will be back sometime in Feb. (Miami). The boys do alot of travelling...so even getting a tattoo in LA may be difficult but persistance does pay off at times. So keep calling. Call those ppl back tomorrow...they'll help you better than anyone here could!

Unless Jorjie posts New Info...then your only hope is to Walk IN and see in July! I know it S-cks Rocks...but the boys are busy!
I did read the FAQ and so I know they're only taking walk-ins - but would it still be a good idea to consult a little bit to be sure the idea I want would go where I want? I want somewhat of a half-sleeve but I'm a pretty small girl and I don't know if my arm is going to be big enough for the design I want.
Would the best thing be to do a walk-in the day before, or is that not enough time?

Anyway, I called the shop down in Miami, talked to a girl there(kinda rude, but they were busy or so it sounded, so I understand). Anyway, She said that rates start at 200 and go up from there. I'd say that is kinda steep, I mean if you want something small, I'm sure it's cheaper, but I've paid as much as 300 an hour for Shotsie Gorman, so I could pay 200 for the boys at Miami Ink. I'm gonna be down there in August and hope to get something that I've wanted for a long time done by them. I know August, hot as hell, but as a teacher who teaches summer school and coaches football, the first week of August is really the only time I can get down there for some vacation!

I really would love to get a Garver or Kat piece done (and am totally psyched to hear there are other artists in miami not on camera that are also amazing) but I am more than willing to wait a while. I think anyone else on here who REALLY wants Garver, Kat, Ami, whoever-- just be patient and it will happen. I am looking forward to the day it happens, and I will have custom artwork on me forever by an amazing artist(s)! I would love to get a tattoo in some other part of the world by one of these artists. Does anyone know about conventions and how available the artists (such as Kat or Chris) are at these things? Thanks

First of all, that tattoo was a design specifically chosen by Keone for Chris to reflect his personality, his life and his choices. Keone chose those symbols, pictures that have meaning and soul, after he had gotten to know Chris. So for you to go and try and copy it disrespects the traditional style of Polynesian tattooing, Keone as an artist and both he and Garver as human beings.
Second and just as important, why would you want a copy of someone else's tattoo? Get your own tattoo, something that means something to you and inspires you or is connected to you in some way.
Show some individuality and respect others bodies and choices.

Regardless of what this "Jorgie" person may claim- not once has he/she posted Miami Ink's correct address- merely said "Mail checks to 305 Ink" If you WERE employed by Miami Ink, you would post the address, would you not? The correct address is 1344 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Additionally, the $100 deposit??? That fee is only charged to people who send in an audition tape, and the fee is ONLY charged if they accept the audition. This information is readily available from the Miami Ink TLC website.
And finally, why would they post in some random, hardly connected Discovery Channel thread???

Well..since there's only one post here that was modified and it was by miznoss and not mod_ivy...I'd seriously doubt anyone even saw the *uckin' thing. IMHO..unless it's get flagged for a naughty word (oh my) it doesn't even get seen, much less read.
Speaking as someone who has been around a while and is familiar with this thread; A) Jorgie is a she, though she hasn't been around for a while.
