I would like to see a reality show about the life of a zookeeper and what they go through taking care of the animals and raising funds to keep the zoo operating. Perhaps you could show the zoo or the Aquarium in New Orleans and how they are getting back to operational after Hurricane Katrina. copied from 'livetolearn'
junior member.

I would also very interested in what it takes to run a zoo. How animals are abtained, breeding, even routine day to day things.
Most people have been to a zoo so they should be able to appreciate how much effort actuattly goes on in one. I would like this show to showcaze zoo around the world. I am only familur with the Cleveland Zoo and would like to see more. This should also include information on how the handlers, vets, and other staff members got to that job. What schooling, volunteering ect did they need to do to be able to do their job. Give the kids something to think about.

I would like to see a show that features kids helping others by volunteering, raising money,
partisipating in charity events, animal conservation etc. We need to show kids how to get involved to with making this world better or helping it not get any worse. Give kids details on what to do and how to do it.

I aslo think a show hosted by kids for kids would be great. Bindi Erwin's show (if Terri lets her continue) will be awesome. I want to see it. There's hope that she can interest kids to love animals and conservation as much as the
Erwins do.

I'd like to see more science related material. I'd like to see less UFO, ghost and psychic type stuff. I know that type of programming must be put on to help pay the bills, so why not approach it from a scientific, skeptic point of view instead of the implied assumption that it is real, as is almost always the case?

Maybe most importantly, I would to see hosts and hear narrators who sound like they have more than a high school education. See "Dumbing down the network execs" in General Feedback.

I love what Discovery is doing now. Especially on Thursday nights. I, without fail, watch A Haunting and Sensing Murder. To me, those are the best shows on TV right now. Can't get enough of them.

I also wish Top Gear would return. One night I viewed Top Gear, followed by a one hour segment on supercars. I enjoyed it very much, watching the McLaren F1, etc.

I know some feel there are too many car/bike shows, not really what DC is all about, but I guess those of us who like it watch it regardless of what network has it.

Certainly not psychics & people scaring themselves over noises and breezes while they look for ghosts. Science encompasses the entire universe, that should provide enough material without pandering to the irrational.

I would like to see Survivorman have a weekly spot on the Discovery Channel lineup like it has on the Science Channel. I think that it's well suited for the channel, especially with the new "survior friday" yet different enough from Man vs. Wild that both shows would have a strong viewer base. Survivorman is an amazing show, it's just a shame its not listed on the Discovery channel schedule anymore.

When scheduling, check out who is most likely to be watching the program. Why schedule a new show about team demolitions at 9am on a week day? Most people that would be interested in seeing this show would be people that work all day. I personally think you should have aired it at 6pm/7pm.

i would like to see something about hobbies, everyone has a hobby, some strange some commen. maybe discovery should do something in that. I myself have the hobby LEGO bulding, I build LEGO models for meself and all others that might like to have it. I'm even busy with models that look like Dutch trains, buildings and bridges, well... I do practicly all round. I sometimes even get payed to make something. No bad hobby to have, even if im 24 Wink

I also agree with klynn328 that the focus of the channel seems to have nothing to do with "discovery" any more. I used to be an avid watcher -- generally there was ALWAYS something on that I could enjoy. Now it's car guys and mechanical stuff. I'm even tired of "Mythbusters," which you have done to death, and while I love "How It's Made," a constant string of rereuns IN PLACE OF Cash Cab just makes me change the channel. I never saw "Dead Tenants," but it sounds like something that was very popular and that I would watch regularly. What's going on there anyway? Did some car-weenie take over the network?

I don't know where my previous post about Cash Cab ended up, but here it is again: I cannot believe you put this great show in at a time when the only people who can see it are retirees, shut-ins, trust fund babies and the independently wealthy. This is the only show that my son and I watch together, and we both miss it terribly. I want my CASH CAB!!!!!!! And to dj_sypher, the time the program runs has everthing to do with what we'd like to see. If I can't watch a program because of its time slot, the show doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned. And I don't want to tape it -- I can't watch tapes on my living room TV.

SURVIVORMAN is so much better than Man vs Wild!! (please oh please give us our les stroud back) Frown

i absolutely love dirty jobs, deadliest catch, and it takes a thief so i hope those all stay on.

What I do miss though are the animal shows, i think if you guys did a show similar to Blue Planet (absolutely genius, yes i know it took years to film) you would be surprised at the amount of viewers.

Just my two cents.

I would like to see someone from Discovery Channel just pop in and say Hi. That would be a start but really just say something, anything.
