I notice the original post was from '07, but am answering it for '08. From the fashion blogs I read, it looks like this year's colors are going to be cooler jewel tones, like deep purples, greens, blues, and reds, along with classic black and white. It looks like designers are using a lot of silk and tweed paired with black, or leather. Some are using fur. Skirts look to be either mini or long. Constructed jackets are in; some of these have worn details. The empire waists are still there, but it looks like clothing may be getting the natural/lower waist back again (thank god). Unfortunately, tights are in, too - IMHO there isn't anything that can date you in a pic quite like colored tights. Fortunately, there's a lot of tasteful stuff to choose from this season.
