I was just thinking the other day about how some families in the media(think other show with lots of kids) are followed and "harassed" by the media. Then I thought about the Duggars. They don't seem to be followed around by reporters/cameramen just waiting to catch them doing something. They don't seem to take precautions (at least that we can see) regarding privacy. I'm just wondering if there just isn't anything newworthy to report (fight breaks out at local playgound involving Duggar kids, JD caught sneaking into the house after lights out, etc....) or if no one cares enough to look into them the way they have other familes.


Does it seem odd to anyone else that they seem to be left alone when usually the media is out to find any dirt they can on people? Or is it that they just isn't anything to find?

I have noticed that too.

It doesn't seem that anyone bothers them, stalks them, photographs them or anything.

I wonder why?

Maybe they are a clean cut as they appear and nothing spicey ever happens?

Maybe living as close as they do to that landfill keeps people away??? (Jim Bob might be slicker than we all thought!)

With "other" TLC families, did they get stalked by paparozzi before their big break up? I can't remember.

Do other TLC families get photographed and stalked like the "other family".

I didn't really watch too much of the "other" family but I do rememer the mom pointing them out and complaining about them always lurking and following them - at a distance like at the last birthday party.

In any case, it just seems odd (but I guess it's good) that they still have a measure of privacy. (although I do have to admit it would be nice to get more info than what we see each week - perhaps some insider information kind of stuff)

They have camera crews with them a good bit of the time, so I am not even sure they would notice.

Heck - their address was on their website for a long time. To me, that is just nuts and unsafe as all get out. Yes, you can find them with a bit of looking, but to give out your address seems awfully strange.

Maybe they want people to follow them around (thus the attention wh0re thing we all have talked about). Ultimately, I think that the reason they aren't in the tabloids more is that they are "kids". I don't read these types of mags/papers, but I dont think they cover stories about children.

The tabloids probably leave them alone because there is nothing to report. If anything ever came up that was "interesting", such as infidelity rumors, or divorce rumors, or if one of the kids seriously rebelled, the tabloids would be there in a pack.

The Duggars seem to be genuine people and have nothing of a tabloid worthy nature going on. Plus, they're right up front with any news they have regarding courtship, marriage, pregnancy and the like. They didn't "hide" Anna or not release information about the upcoming babies. They put the information and pictures and video right out there, so there's nothing for the tabloids to exploit.

Maybe they're smart that way. Maybe that's the secret to being left alone. Maybe other celebrities could learn something from them.

I'm not suggesting that I think the Duggar's will ever wind up like the Jon/Kate train wrecked family, but I'm quite positive that at least one of the Duggar kids will rebel, will lead a lifestyle that they don't approve of, or otherwise disappoint them for their lily white fundamentalist world they've created. I hope the kids will learn, at some point, that there is a lot more to life than getting married & spouting out babies for Jesus.

My guess is, to they are so far out in the country, and who knows gun laws, a good way for the paparazzi to get shot literally. Also they do always have cameras with them, so who knows. Jon and Kate were making noise long before all this hit the fan, Jon was whining years ago, how the community was not giving them enough, plus where they lived, was in a culte sac with tons of other homes around them so people always saw them. I would bet when the Duggars are not filimging they are home a lot

J & Kate were not in the tabloids for the first 3 years either, then he started picking up college girls at the bar and it all started.

I have not seen any other TLC reality stars in the tabloids either ( little couple, little family big world, table for 12). So your wondering why the Duggars are not followed makes no sence to me, they do not do anything tabloid worthy
