I watched the entire episode about them renewing their vows. I just about got ill when I continued to see Jim Bob ask Michelle to marry him for about the third time during the program. The continued kissing seems like "for show" and I also get even more of a sense that Jim Bob is like Josh in proving how great he is or thinks he is. I also, without a doubt, could see how embarrassed the kids are about their parents and the constant baby-making going on. Jill said something about all the babies so guessing that it was obvious that they loved each other. No, it only proves that they have a lot of unprotected sex. The kids are embarrassed by the way Jim Bob & Michelle behave. The kids should not know anything about their sex lives. The fact that they continue to spout out baby after baby is embarrassing. It's also embarrassing that Jim Bob can't seem to leave Michelle alone; he always has to be kissing her and putting on a show. I started out watching the 2nd episode with them going to Branson & the Noah's Ark theatre segment. I turned it off when Jim Bob had to kiss Michelle during the part where they supposedly were rehearsing their parts of the show. I'd had enough of it by that time. The only reason I watched the previous show was because I'd heard ya'll talk so much about the wedding that I had to see it PLUS I can't believe how hoakie and lame Jim Bob acted. I believe Jim Bob is BRAGGADOCIOUS (it is a word) which I think the Bible talks about not being. Calling a lot of attention to yourself & bragging is NOT a Godly trait. Anyway, I am still praying for menopause for Michelle.

It's great that they still ove each so much after 20+ years but sometimes it does come off as staged. Why were they kissing at the Noah's Ark play? Now that was a bitt much.

Yeah, I mean it's fine that they love each other BUT after 25 years, why don't they act a bit like their age? It's not cute or sincere looking when you are married that many years. I feel so incredibly bad for those kids and I felt bad esp. after viewing the 2nd wedding episode. I will say again what a huge joke it was that Michelle wore a WHITE dress--one that was too tight to begin with and then didn't fit right because she was prego again. The whole show just made me ill and I could not sit through a 2nd episode for anything. The Duggar's irresponsibility, public displays of affection (that look staged/phony) is repulsive and lame. It was obvious that the kids are embarrassed. I don't care what anyone says. I can read their faces. They wish their parents acted a bit more "normal".

I swear, Jim Bob could be in handcuffs and being carted off to jail and he would still be all kissy kissy with Michelle. Just kidding.

The highlight of the Epic of Gilgamesh episode for me was seeing the two Jacob sheep. I'm partial to Jacobs. Not kidding.

And if you do your research you will find that the myth of Gilgamesh preceeds the whole Noah thing by several thousand years. Go Gilgamesh! Just being silly and sarcastic.

I couldn't even stay awake to see the entire Noah episode. I saw the first half and I thought JB's version of the story of Noah was quite pathetic. He left alot out and I feel sorry for the teenagers having to sit through his Bible studies which he gives at a pre-school level for the little kids. The older kids need to be in a youth group with kids their own age, learning about the Bible in a more mature, educational manner. Not as if they are 5 years old.

Nothing in the Duggar world is age appropriate that I can see. The older kids are constantly having to do things that only really appeal to the younger ones. Then the younger ones are forced to do things that scare them at times.

I think they are set up for everyone to be about 5-8. Weird to treat your adult children the same as your 2 year old.

Ugh I totally agree. Michelle could have wore a nice formal dress without a veil. She didn't need to go all out and have a real wedding dress. She already did that. This was just a vow renewal not another wedding...So weird. HOw embarrassing for the kids.

Do the Duggars ever turn down an invitation? They always seem to be invited to go to Pigeon Forge, invited to the Noah's Ark show, invited to this and invited to that. Heck, they were probably even invited to go to that Ethiopian restuarant in DC. Do they just sit home waiting for invitations? I guess, maybe that is a good idea...they certainly weren't invited to invade the Bates's house and tear it apart.

Notice there has been no follow-up about the Bates family? No other word about Kelly or the baby she lost? Not that I think their lifestyle is a lot better than the Duggar's--they just haven't gotten bitten by the celebrity bug yet.

If Kelly is Mrs. Bates (sorry - I just don't keep up that closely) then I know she just had another baby. Amy said she had complications and was ill for a while, but I believe they are both ok now.

I am not sure that the Bates or the Kellers or other groups will "get bitten". They just seem quite different to start with.

They can't turn down an invitation! That would be a missed opportunity for TLC to follow them and film them being the "star" of something. (and another check in the bank).

JB would never turn down anything free where he can also get paid to have it taped for his show.

Did you notice how Jim Bob acted when he went into the bakery to get the cake? Did he even have to pay for the cake? Maybe it was paid for in advance but he walked in & said "We're the Duggar family" like he was famous & the owner came out to greet him like he was an emperor or something. I wouldn't trust an eight-year old to help bring in a cake. I thought that was risking a lot; then again Jim Bob already had his hand in the cake before they got to the church. :0

PPatten, that is a good point regarding their nightly Bible discussions. They should set aside separate time for the older kids, perhaps after the youngsters have gone to bed. I assume they don't all go to bed at the same time. I don't think it's a bad thing that they review the Bible as a family but at my church, we have youth groups because young adults have different issues to deal with, and should have a place to discuss these things, without having your 5-y-o brother around.
