But the truth is, these reality families show no common sense, no sense of morality, and no humility. If they were really as they say, they would get themselves off tv. But no, they are all so happy reaping the financial rewards that come from exploiting their children on national television!

They are providing for their kids. Period.

This way they dont' have to put them in day care and can be there for them.
Ok I had to respond to this. I am so peeved I could scream. How much quality time does each Duggar child get with their parents? Hmm? I have "just" two kids and guess what? They went to daycare! I can say I spent individual time with each of my children, can the Duggars? They may be "providing" by feeding and clothing their kids, but not emotionally. PERIOD

And you don't know what happens the other 10050 minutes each week. You don't know that there isn't plenty of that when the cameras aren't rolling. PERIOD!
It's very true I don't know what happens during that time in their house. I just think that they can't possibly give each child the quality time they should have. How much should that be? I don't know. I just know for a fact there's 24 hours in each day and if you allow for sleeping, eating, etc. there is not much time left.

Now you're just using common sense and logic. You can't possibly expect to make a point with that!! Wink

We know they sleep more than 6 hours, so you know that each child doesn't get one hour a day from a parent. So I guess a quality 10 minutes a day?

This isn't a personal attack on the Duggars, mom9900, it's a matter of simple math. There are 24 hours in the day. Let's be generous and say they get 7 hours of sleep. Chances are, the parents get less, while hopefully the kids get more. But, back to our math. Assuming 7 hours of sleep. that leaves us with 17 hours left in the day. Already we don't have enough time in the day to spend *one hour* with each kid. Take away half an hour for breakfas, half an hour for lunch, half an hour for dinner (completely unrealistic, if you're cooking at all), plus an hour to get ready for the day. Now we're down to 14.5 hours to spend time with the kid. But, since they're home-schooled, we have to subtract for that. Let's say they get 4 hours of instruction. I hope it's more, but I'm going with the generous estimate (generous to our math here.) Now we have 10.5 hours. That leaves us with 35 minutes per kid to have alone with their parent. Realistically they're going to have less, because the meals are going to take longer than half an hour, schooling should be longer, and I didn't take into account Bible study. So realistically, each kid probably has about 10-15 minutes with the parents alone. Not very much.

They did say on one show that there is a sign- up sheet. The kids have to schedule one on one time with one or both parents. That is really sad when you have to make an appointment to talk to your parents.
