I just started If you want you can post the not so good things about the Duggars, even though they are throughout this board. BUT.. this thread is about posting something good about the Duggars..
So, Ill start.

They try to raise their kids good, and by the Bible.(hard to say that without saying how they over interpret the Bible.)

They try not to judge.(even though when they don't like something they say "we don't like to judge") isn't that judging,WHEN YOU SAY OH YEAH WE AGREE WITH THAT BUT WHEN YOU DISAGREE, ITS, "WE TRY NOT TO JUDGE"(i guess they are better at "not judging" than most people)

THE #1 BEST THING ABOUT THE DUGGARS:

JOHN DAVID.

Im not saying, Im just saying.

I tried.

I also like your idea.

I like some of the Duggarisms. Like the whole guys and their hair thing. JB and Josh with their hairspray make me laugh- when James was fussing with his hair and gel the day of the race & the caption on the screen how much they went thru in one year really struck me as funny.

I also like the way cousin Amy interacts with the girls and the rest of the family and how they all interact with her.

I particularly liked the Duggar run show. JBs comment about the blowout in his shoe is cracking me up as I write this. Then his comments about everyone being so fit and up so early also amused me. I think I could watch it about 5 more times and still be entertained. I don't know why, but the whole show with all his comments and the way the camera zoomed in on his legs and played some kind of chariots of fire theme was the icing on the cake.

This is a very good idea.

I like that they are all healthy and fit. Even JB, despite the Weight Watchers, is not overweight. And Michelle is a very fit woman for having had 18, almost 19, children. She looks younger than her age and is not at all overweight, even when she's pregnant.

It's been noted that Josh has gained weight since he married Anna, but that's not unusual. And he is still not overweight by any means.

So I think that's wonderful about them.

I also admire people who stick to their beliefs, no matter what those beliefs may be. It has nothing to do with if those beliefs are popular or not, or if I share them. I think it's important to stick to your own beliefs and convictions.

I also like how happy and contented they all seem to be. They seem to find joy in just being, and that's refreshing. We can think they need to get out more, or expand their horizons, but all in all, they seem very happy and I like that.

This is a very refreshing thread, and I love that! Smile

I admire their faith and the fact that they want to do what's right for their children. I may not always agree but I repect that they want their kids to grow up to be good people.

The really do have a beautiful family.

I also like the fact that they are still unpretentious enough to shop at thrift stores, even if I don't always agree with what they choose to buy.

JBs hair reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer had a hair transplant with the hair of an evil criminal and made him do all kinds of evil deeds. The creepiness of this man is eminating from his hair. The vanity of this man is just another example of his hypocrisy. Evil, evil hair. And don't get me started on Michelle's hideous do. What is their fanatical religious justification for the awful hair dos they inflict on those poor girls? Any light anyone can shed on this would be great. It's keeping me up nights.

What's with all of the editing mod-kelly? Even on a positive thread, words must be controlled? Geeze!

The Duggars are a very good-looking family. I like how they have a great sense of family unity. I also like how they teach music to the kids. Now if they could only dance... Wink

I am truly impressed with Michelle's body, how well it has handled having so many kids. She must be one tough cookie.

They have a very nice home. And the built-in play area is awesome. I bet most kids wished that they had that.

They all have to spend quite a bit of time on their hair.
But just because one may not wear a style you like does not make it evil. or hideous.
I was raised that a woman's hair is her glory. And no matter how many times I cut it, I still end up letting it grow long. Some lessons are never unlearned.

I like they way they are raising their kids to work together as a team, and that the kids really do seem to genuinely like each other. Me, I have a sibling that I am not particularly close to, and never have been, and I do not get the feeling the Duggars have any relationships like this.

I appreciate the positive thread... and wanted to ensure it continued by removing references to other participants on the forum. The forum is to discuss the program - not the posting habits of others.

Thanks.

I love the fact that my kids can watch the show and there is nothing bad on it. That is really, really, really nice! Cool We have it on the DVR and I can say "go put on the Duggars" and not have to wonder what exactly might be on the episode.

Yes, they are all within normal weight-height and that is really good!

I love that they seem to get along. All kids fight but they seem to really like eachother. Very refreshing.

I'm impressed that their house is pretty neat and picked up. I know about the oldest girls doing the chores and all...but still...that is impressive that they keep the house well. My house is rather trashed.

I like that Michelle seems happy. Sometimes it is a bit too much and I'd like to see her really flip out Big Grin but I gotta hand it to her, she seems peaceful and happy. Good for her. It's good when you are satisfied with your life.

In fact, the family seems to be happy overall.

I know that they have their quirks (and things that we would do differently) but all in all, I like them and I like their show.

I like the fact that, even though I think he's a bit on the creepy side, JB seems to adore Michelle as much today as he did 25 years ago, if not more. Their marriage does not seem stale, or mature, but as fresh and passionate as the day they got married. I think JB could exercise some self-control, or not show off as much as he does, I'm thinking pottery lesson and Father's Day revalations, but I think it's wonderful that they are still very fresh and in love, even after all the children.

I posted almost the same on another thread (ofcourse my comments were immediately negatively criticized). I had added I wish the show was televised at 8 (so younger children could enjoy it, too) instead of 9; however just today I watched it with my family (albeit a repeat) at 3!

Jana is a breath of fresh air. She's so cute and funny. I'll save the next part (starting with "Too bad...") for another thread.
