Is Bullet Proof Really Bullet Proof? What I want to see is how bullet-proof glass reacts to different firearms. Possibly from handguns to snipers and throw in a gatling gun while your at it. You see how bullets can hit glass but how bout' in slow motion? That would be killer. And with the gatling gun, if you use it, possibly you'd get to see shards of glass getting hit by another bullet and shattering some more. If its a good i dea e-mail me at anime_punk_42@yahoo.com.

Have you done a show on what happens if two bullets collide, are they ripped to shreads or do they just flatten their tips? And does the type of bullet matter, or the gun itself?

Suggestions for your show:
1. Greek fire + water = boom
2. Potassium Permanganate is a strong Oxidizer
with Glycerin = fire
3. Liquid oxygen + oil = boom

thanks,
Dave Ginn

Dangerous but fun. College buddies and I used a commercial microwave oven to cook a raw egg. It actually blew the door off! This would be fun to see on Time Warp!

I am fairly certain that in one episode you had camera's filming at upto 15,000FPS (can't be 100% sure of it though) and with this in mind it would be very very cool to see the Metal Storm in super slo-mo action. The Metal Storm has the capability of firing upto 1,000,000 rounds per minute! Just the exit of the rounds woul be amazing but the impact could be even more so.

Anyway just a thought, excellent work on the show, keep it up Smile

Welcome, Matt!

Idea for Time Warp Show>>> slow mo of "Physics Force", a live on-stage show put on by professors and teachers in Minnesota to encourage young students to be interested in science. Some very cool experiments including "smoke cannon" and ping pong ball ripping through pop cans pushed only by an air vacuum. Link as below, http://www.physics.umn.edu/outreach/pforce/

Thanks!
Mike

you guys should do something that alot of people probably think of. What a liter looks like when its exploding. Also you guys should do an episode on what a axe body spray looks like when its being exploded thanks. Smile

You should do a segment on the M134 Dillon Gatling Gun. It can shoot 50 rounds a second and i think it would be cool to see how close the rounds are when they come out of the barrel. It would also be pretty amazing to see how much damage it could do on different items.

I definetly think you should do civil war cannons being shot...at my house my family owns 5 civil war cannons and one mortor, every 4th of July we shoot our largest cannon and mortor with blanks and all you get is the sound, smoke and if you watch close enough you can see the fire comming out. pretty cool. I think you should slow down the shot and see it all come out at once.

Hey Matt:

I recently was watching Future Weapons, and the gun being featured was the M134D Gatling Gun. It fires approximately 3,000 rounds per minute, and I just thought that would be intriguing to witness the power of this weapon at 2000 frames per second.

Rifle bullets do two things when fired: they rotate because of the rifeling in the barrel, and lead bullets "upset" or change shape due to acceleration. It would be neat if you guys could show these things in slow motion.

A related thought- some high velocity rounds supposedly can disintegrate before reaching the target 100 yards away. That might be rather challenging to film.

What do rocks look like when hit by large caliber bullets? A softball sized limestone boulder will disappear in a cloud of powder. Granite just chips. Between these extremes, rocks shatter in interesting ways.

I used to fill plastic jugs with various fluids and shoot them with rifles. It's hard to see just what water does because it is transparent. Very wet sand looks better.
