I am from my Sri Lanka and currently visiting my daughter here in USA. I love to watch Animal planet and thought of writing this little story about a cat my daughter once had.

She called it Sudu, which means ‘white’ in our language (our language, by the way, is Sinhala). Sudus’ front legs were deformed. She looked just like a little kangaroo when she ran which looked like hopping with her long bent front legs. Once she stops running she would sit upright, again, just like a kangaroo. Sudu loved to learn tricks and my daughter trained her to roll over on the carpet in the sitting room when ever she pretended to shoot her uttering the word “DOOM” and pointing a finger straight towards her. Sometimes Sudu would require two shootings to completely fall dead. The funny thing was that Sudu preferred one particular carpet to always fall dead no matter where my daughter shoots her. If ever my daughter pretended to shoot her away from the carpet Sudu would make a dash to her usual spot in the carpet to fall dead. After a while she would come quietly to my daughter her as if to say, “I didn’t actually die, I TOO PRETENDED”.
