I would like to see a show about marfan syndrome surgery (aortic dissection) as of the many recent deaths due to misunderstanding of this fatal disorder (john ritter/author of RENT) Previously the success rate was very poor now at the university level there are many options with a very high rate success. For myself its been almost 4 years since my repair and life is close to normal with some medicine and life changes best of health to all!! luckymrg7
I am so excited about this show you see my almost 16 yr old son recently just suffered a STROKE due to a birth defect that went undetected for his whole life he was diagnosed with ASD(artial septial defect) or hole on the heart that didnt close at birth. My son was completely paryalized from his eye down on his right side. He has made a almost full recovery but now the docotors are saying he must wait until he is 21-30 before they will operate......THIS IS A SUBJECT we need more info on if anyone out there has any info please contact me at az420@frontiernet.net Thanks for your time Mindy
Dear Mindy, I sent you a link to the usc cardiothorasic website that has some good info on how this defect can be repaired with minimally invasive surgery under the right circumstances. there are some neat videos about robotic surgery also. BEST OF HEALTH!!! luckymrg7
Dear luckymrg7. Thank you so much for that link it was very useful we are going to an Avanced Cardiologist Specialist and they are going to do 1 more TEE where they stick a camera down your throat to look at his heart so cross your fingers for us........Mindy
