Yeah I was pretty upset that the show wasn't on. This is the only show I watch on the science channel. I hope they didn't end it. What happened to Tuesday=space night?
I'm kinda upset to find that Cosmos was not on tonight . Is it ended? This was the only show that I really looked forward to watch all week I saw it as a High schooler senior year. This is what convinced me to become a scientist I want an explanation for why the show did not air tonight. Also no NOVA on PBS. Whats going on???? jlorda@netzero.net
I am glad that I am not the only one. I thought I had forgot to program its recording in on the DVR. Now has anyone checked next weeks airing? I believe that I looked for it last night and nothing was listed on Dish Network's program schedule!!!
Is this one of those special months where they are pushing for ratings and start airing specials??
The series has 13 episodes, 8 of which have aired prior to this week.
if you take a look at the cosmos episode guide you will see that the remaining episodes were originally scheduled to continue throughout march.
However, if you look a the weekly tv schedule on this site, you will see it seems to have been replaced by 'the planets' for at least the rest of the month.
It would be a real shame if they dropped cosmos for some reason, but it doesn't look like anyone is going to comment about it here. I guess all we can do is wait until the April schedule is up so we can see if they intend to finish up the run.
Wish that if the Science Channel changes a scheduled program that it would post a notice on the homepage.
With regard to COSMOS missing: Our country needs another strong generation of science engineers and teachers. Carl Sagan had a special way of communicating and inspiring the young. If only 5 students watching this series become engineers or 100 become gifted teachers--what a wonderful thing for this country. Unfortunately probably many who would be inspired can not afford to 'buy' the series. If it has been cancelled, please reconsider.
I'm very upset! Carl is the man! I'm pissed! The COSMOS rules for people like myself. The Cosmos has showed people like myself with little education,HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE COSMOS!
Upset? Upset is NOT the word for it!!!!!! Put The Cosmos back on!!! Carl has helped a uneducated person like myself to learn about the Cosmos. He has open my eyes to learn more about the Cosmos!
Please Please Please put cosmos back on!! Me and my friends rely on Cosmos to brighten up our tuesday nights, and "The planets" is such a poor replacement. We are very upset about the choice to take it off the air.
I really enjoy watching Cosmos and it's a shame if they have discontinued the series. Perhaps each of us can contact the Science Channel through the following to see what they plan to do with the program:

I'm surprised that the moderator of this Forum would be unable to provide immediate information about Science Channel scheduling. not to mention Discovery Channel management's decision to take a show off the air that they took such great pains to promote without so much as a "Heads up, Cosmos fans!" Seriously poor decision-making all the way around. I know at least a half-dozen people in the Atlanta area who are mad as hell right now.
