I can give you two different points of view! For me (I am 44 yo female in a long term by the way), the little things mean more to me. A copy of a good book, a surprise lunch date, calls during the work day saying I love you. My bf thought that candy and flowers were necessary to please me on Val. Day, I was heartbroken, I am diabetic and dieting and he grabbed the flowers at a grocery store on the way here, (they died within days). A sticky note with some true feeling and a surprise ride would have been a 10 to me. I on the other hand, am a lover of written emotion, he denies it is important. That makes every card or email extra important. He says my making a special meal for him makes him feel important and happy. It was hard for me, my ex just expected to be fed, and my bf is a GREAT cook and it intimidated me to cook for him, so now when I do, he gushes about it for days! Find the small things, that you may not think important and do them!
