ok, im having a problem. my husband is a depressed person (manic depressive) and i dont know much about it. it took me a long time to believe that depression really is a problem. so anyway, i looked up some stuff, but im lost when it comes to his medicine. he takes ultram and oxycodone, for a back problem, and it seems to make him worse at times. now if he goes to the sixth floor, (womack army medical center) they give him paxil. he says that counteracts his pain meds. im confused about this hole process, and i need help. can i please get some advice of how i can better deal with his depression? thanks.

I know someone who takes Lortab for his back problems and it makes him very moody.He can go from being nice to nasty in a split second.I personally don't think its smart to mix pain meds w/ antidepressants cos they don't mesh well together.But I"m not a doctor so you should talk to his doctor and ask his or her opinion.But pain meds will cause mood swings so maybe that is some of his problems.I hope all works out for you guys.
