Hi! I am new to this board but I just thought I would give it a try. My bf and I have been dating for almost 5 years, right now we are doing long-distance but I will be moving back to be with him in May /06 when I am done my degree. We have been disagreeing a lot because I feel that I am now at a point in my life where I would like to think about getting married (engaged so that we can start to think about a wedding for when I am done school in the spring) but he doesn't seem very anxious at all. He keeps saying "it will happen when it happens", it will be "out of the blue, when I least expect it". I know he wants to eventually but I am quickly becoming crazy with wanting it to happen RIGHT NOW!!! I know I am beginning to bug him about it but I can't seem to stop myself, I just don't get what the wait is for!?
Has anyone else ever felt like this and any suggestions on how to get my mind off of it and on to something more productive?

just thought i'd share my point of view(im a guy by the way) with you, since im kind of in the same situation. i've been with my Girlfriend for just about 4 years, we've actually been through the long distance thing 2 years back and we have been talking about engagement for about maybe alittle more than a year now... i have to honestly say im not sure why i didnt propose to her yet... i mean i know for a fact that she's the one i want to spend the rest of my life with so why dont i just do it ? i think im waiting for the right moment to do it but according to all of my friends there never really is a right moment. so thats pretty much all i can give you...im not sure why your boy friend is waiting but i am sure he's probably going through what im gonig through.

Thanks jzs23! That's basically what he has said too! He said he knows he wants it to happen and that I'm the only one he wants and everything btu he just wants to do it when he feels it's right...I guess I'm just getting anxious for it to be the "right time" right now!!!
Anyways, thanks for your input, sometimes you just need to hear what someone unbiased thinks!
