It is in my opinion that an over reliance on electronics in warfare can prove to be both a crutch and fatal. Electronics can fail, be damaged or be compramised through sabotage. For example, failing to train regularly on iron sights, or doing away with iron sights altogether would leave soldiers helpless if their electronic "future warrior" system simply stops working. One example would be hypothetically if an Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) were to damage electronic circuits, rendering them useless. Aspects such as this, question such as this have not been addressed on your show to the degree that I would have liked. Cyber warfare could also leave systems helpless under an attack. We use satellites for GPS communication, our aircraft, our armoured vehicles and our artillary pieces will all either be electronically automated, or will depend upon electronics. What is needed is redundant manual systems and training in the event of either failure, damage, or an EMP or cyber attack. I want to know that our military can still function efficiently under these circumstances. Please in the future explore these types of questions, when dealing with all future Future Weapons shows.
