I know Mythbusters has already revisited this one but you went about it the wrong way:

The original problem was that the plane was on the ground when the first test was done. So why was it still on the ground in the second test with the wind tunnel?

You're right its to do with air pressure sucking the high pressure out of a confined space into an area of low pressure - but that's not caused by the wind as the plane moves through the sky! The altitudes at which aircraft fly have an extremely low air pressure at them, that's why I think the effect you saw with the gas seeping out of the hole would be a lot more dramatic (maybe enough to cause an explosion of the aircaft fuselage) AT ALTITUDE.

I'm not the only one who thinks so either - time for another revisit...??

Cheers

Thats why they presurized the cabin . It causes the same effect as a plane up in the air. also WHO IS DUMB ENOUGH TO FLY A PLANE THAT COULD BLOW UP! The box was a simulation of air passing over a hole to draw air out of the cabin and could easaly be done on the ground

Also I need to ask this what are they going to do if the plane didn't explode and is flying without a pilot. I don't think San Fransico would like a plane crash into one of their building.

BONE UP ON YOUR SCINECE, AND THIS IS THE MILITARY CHANNEL, MYTHBUSTERS ARE ON THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL
