The Mythbusters show that aired 07/07 and 07/08 on TimeWarner in the Los Angeles market showed a level of poor judgement that troubles me greatly. Your Producer, Beyond Productions, and your researchers are either unthinking or just plain stupid. In any event, they should not be in a position of responsibility greater than cleaning up at the dog park. Mssrs. Adam and Jamie were put in the position of saying such stupid lines as, "Will jumping on a grenade actually save the rest." OR "Macho Boom" OR "That was a real-like thump." Although you researched the origin of the word "grenade", you completely ignored documented history of the self-sacrificing act of covering a grenade with your own body so as to sheild your buddies from injury and death. This is not a "movie myth" or a "tall tale confirmed". There follows a listing compiled from the actual citations upon presentation of the MEDAL OF HONOR to these individuals. Almost all of the presentations were posthumous, For your little pea-brained researchers, that means that most of the young men listed were killed by their actions. Your crass, lame, mean-spirited presentation is beyond apology or forgiveness by me. Perhaps the families of these men listed are more gracious and forgiving than I. As for as my actions - other than electing not to watch your show ever again, I will send a copy of this posting to all of your SPONSORS, the Alameda Police Department, the Alameda Fire Department, TimeWarner Cable, The Los Angeles Board of Supervisors (they grant TWC the franchise),Oakland FD and PD, San Francisco FD and PD, California Governor, Secretary of State, Public Utilities Commission, Cal Trans, The President, The Vice President, The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, The Secretary of Defense, The Secretary of the Navy, Army and the Commandant of Marines, Department of Transportation, Bureau of ATF, Homeland Security, The Medal of Honor Association, VFW, American Legion, Senators Boxer and Feinstein, every living MOH recipient I can address, various news networks, talk show hosts and anyone else I can think of... Here is the listing of the Medal of Honor recipients - just from Iraq and Vietnam - there are many more from Korea and WWII... IRAQ –
