Oh, come on guys. You have to admit he adds a sense of excitement to what could be a dry show. If you follow these programs, they generally throw in a clip of him in the middle of statistics, or facts. He is like the over excited child who is on a sugar high from birthday cake, and can't wait to open his presents. I have to admit, I like him, and actually laugh after most of his comments. Imagine sitting in one of his classes at the RMA?
Ok, I'll break tradition of only one post per Forum (unless engaged in a friendly debate), engage my macro and say Dr. Areh Neusbacher is a twit, agreeing with supdawg.
The pseudo-quote in jfarlik's post wouldn't surprise me one bit; that's a good one.
My favorite [so far] was in a show on snipers, I believe and there was talk about needing to change positions after taking a shot due to muzzle flash, powder in the air, or something like that when Dr. Areh pops up, jumping, yelling "Here I am, I'm the Sniper, come get me!" or words to that effect.
I was wondering just what he was a Doctor of, and learned he's a Phd. From where I sit, that just means his B.S. is [P]iled [h]igher and [d]eeper.
But to give some credit where due, since my post on 11-10-07, for want of something [constructive] to do, I've returned to College.
jpowers_01, I have to agree with you to a point. The Prof. that teaches my History class is an ex-cop. I knew him before he retired and started teaching. He was boring then and is even more boring now. One hour, 15 minutes of monotone.
My Constitutional Law Teacher is a local Attorney. Know him too. Been against him when I was a cop and even testified FOR him when he hired me to do a Traffic Crash Reconstruction in a Civil Case, which is what I beat him on on our previous meeting. He's like Dr. Areh, without the stupidity. I never thought Constitutional Law could be fun, but he makes it that way and gets so excited sometimes you want to bust out laughing.
I like the guy myself even though he is a preppy goofball. They need to collect all their consultants and debate some issues once a year. He wouldn't do well against W. Atwater.
Specifically, rosy-cheeked Aryh really made a stupid comment about the YF-22 being useless and over-kill saying F-15s/16s would do any job just as well. Imagine that.
Take him back 20 years, sit his PHd rear end in a large dar signature craft on a first-strike mission, see how he thinks about that then. He needs a little humiliation, I don't think he earned his degree affiliated with an American military academy.
Actually, seeing that he teaches at the Royal Military Academy (RMA), the UK version of West Point, I would believe he is not a US citizen and did not attend any US academy. I don't want to sounds like I'm defending him, but I guess I am a bit. His comment about the F-22 was that they are sooo expensive, and the technology is sooo above what any other country has right now, that it doesn't really make sense. I believe a different commentator even mentioned that the defence against these jets is a lot cheaper then the gains of having them.
If you have seen the Future Dog Fights episode, it shows a lot of what tactics can be deployed by both the F-22 and the opposition.
