You want to know what you're missing.....TOP GEAR, TOP GEAR, TOP GEAR, TOP GEAR, and oh ya, TOP GEAR. I am increasingly losing interest in Discovery after it took the show off the air and put in ridiculous shows in its place.
A show JUST LIKE "IN A FIX"! It is amazing how the 'powers that be' don't listen to the fans. Why even post this thread? Locking the In A Fix board is the last straw for me!
I agree with previous posters... shows like In a Fix and Top Gear would be great, or even 5th Gear (another UK car show). No more of this fake made for TV drama, we aren't kids that need to be entertained, we're adults that would like to see some quality tv.
DO NOT TAKE OFF MONSTER HOUSE. THE ONLY SHOW THAT IS VERY ENTERTAINING TO BUILDERS ALL OVER. PLEASE LEAVE THIS SHOW ON OR YOU WILL LOSE ONE VIEWER FOR SURE. ME.
Seems like Discovery is doing everything they can to first attract viewers and then push them away. For example, Top Gear was an outstanding show for car folks - nothing made up, humorous, and fun to watch - no pretend drama or glorifying the lazy talentless brother. Sooo, what do they do - show a few episodes and then pull it!
Same deal with Monster House - it was fun to watch.
I guess you think we'll all keep flocking back to watch the umpteenth rerun of Chopper... wrong!
I disagree with some of these other posters. I believe you have pleanty of 'garge' shows. What's missing is the science, history, animals, and educational shows that used to be on Discovery. Now the "let's all discover" motto only applies to shop class. What I've had to 'discover' was other networks or my DVD player.
Bring back In A Fix!!! Bring back monster house!!! Bring Back Surprise By Design!!!! That was my favorite show ever, I cried when you took it off air!! !!!
The only things even worth watching now are Cash Cab and American Chopper!!!
Hello, I am quite interested with your creative and educational program on television, I greatly appreciate its purposes and methods of doing so...kudos...Speaking of myself, I have recently become intrigued by the topic of LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) as an accidental invention for mild migranes by Dr. Albert Hofmann, a brief period of revolution in theraputic methodology, and the cultural blast of the psychedelic experience. I have watched many theatrical and documenting films upon this topic (Hofmann's Potion, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Psyche Out,) but am wishing a more public and accesable source to become educated by. I would GREATLY appreciate any reaction from this, even recognition of my participitation with your site, thank you very much. Your's Truly, Lucid Opus

Big was very cool, i know that , that was the first show you guys seemed to touch on somthing musical, you had seymour duncan on there, he is a legend in the music gear industry. I say bravo to the DC for making shows about people WORKING HARD to earn a living, being creative and building somthing substantial with your HANDS. Working instead of working the system! It seems to promote creativity, independance, confidence and the willingness to say, "hey, if they can do it, I can atleast try it!" I learned a incredible amount of information from watching BIG and Monster house, OCC and even american Hot rod.
I would love to see the DC touch on some kind of musical aspect of life, music is primal, everyone, likes some kind of music, period! Im not talking about videos or , I love the 90's VH1 type of thing, a inside the industry of gear manufacturing, what goes into it and how and why it works, Like when you guys made that Huge guitar on BIG.
The DC and its programming have been a positive influence on my self and my familys life. Thanks! Oh, more Lobstermen please!!!
And, take the deadliest catch and all that footage and make individual shows about each boat (as i saw mentioned in another thread somewhere)
Discovery Channel , Discovery Channel, Discovery Channel........................... O how the mighty have fallen. Discovery Channel was once a mighty force in television with an illustrious reputation of providing quality documentaries that held people at the edge of their seats and made them THINK. Documentaries that got people to look around and question the very fabric of their lives as Discovery lead them on a journey of exploration, soaring higher and ever higher. Science, nature, animal, and educational documentaries were once extensively broadcasted on Discovery, exhibitioning Discovery Channel's encompassing repertoire of world class documentaries. These days Discovery Channel has 'dumbed' itself down to appeal to an audience that has never truly appreciated Discovery's purpose or ideologies. Discovery Channel has been overrun by shows for the common idiot! Dont get me wrong I still love OCC and Monster Trucks but what Discovery has done is to forsake its true viewers whom have stuck with Discovery through thick and thin and neglected them so they could have as is being proved a very temporary audience from a different demographic. Now I come from Australia so my networks may be slightly different but National Geographic which was once in the shadow of Discovery is exploiting every moment of Discovery's failure. I am warning you Discovery, you have neglected me for so long, I am so close to changing from you forever towards National Geographic. As I am witnessing Discovery's programming is pretty old and outdated, National Geographic comes along with all new programming and excellent promotions and just a overrall better look and what am I meant to do? Discovery needs to get out on its ass and start producing the documentaries we all know it was once famous for. All areas of science! Heck have an annual science week. I remember the first documentary I ever watched on Discovery it was called SHANGHAI OPERA this documentary got me so interested and pulled me out of ordinary life into a reality of possibility. If there is anyone out there who feels the same about this issue and wants Discovery to do something and stick by its initial viewers whom dont just come for all the seriously lame and boring 'bike shows' than please speak up and tell Discovery off. We are the ones who made Discovery great and dont let them think that they will possibly grow when they neglect us like this and ditch us for a demographic whom arent in the least interested in documentaries but are more entertained by 'reality tv'. Dont get me wrong Discovery should still broadcast those shows but as the ancient Greeks once said 'Everything in moderation', all I want is a balance where maybe those biker shows come in a 2 and a half block or something a week and then devote the rest of its time to quality programming. Please I urge you to speak up! I love Discovery and always have, I have never cared when the losers in my class teased me for liking Discovery but enough is enough! I am like the rest of you bored with Discovery, even though there is a Science Channel lets face it, its programming is so old and I will admit I have seen a majority of it already(yawn), or at least thats whats happening in Austraia! Discovery Channel once epitomised the very fabric of science and education but now standards are low and the situation is dire! It appears to me that lovers of knowledge and science enthusiasts are an endangered species. I love education and knowledge but Discovery is no longer providing this for me. A while ago before I found this site I wished there was some way I could have expressed my feelings but my searches on the search engine turned up negative but now I can yay! Anyway I have provided my concerns thankyou for reading and please comment.
