I was looking at some posts at www.mattroloff.com. Someone stated that they had been by the Roloff Farm, and the new addition was completed. It had cedar siding with green trim. This person said it was very pretty. He/she also said they could get real close because of all the signs posted saying no trespassing. Youy can go very far on the farm.

Good Morning Yall,
Since I'm new here, I thought I would voice my opinion on this matter. I may not be posting it in the right place tho. If I'm not, please forgive me until I learn things around here. I have to say it must be really nice to remodel a home these days. We lost our home this past year and our car as well due to the economy being the way it is. My hubby did get a better paying job at the beginning of the New Year and that has helped out alot. We still live paycheck to paycheck and we are now renting a home and we are buying another vehicle that we make monthly payments on. The Roloff's may have more money than our family, but we don't have any credit cards nor do we want any. My hubby always said that if we need or want something and can't pay cash for it, then we don't need it. We don't have fancy things by any means, but most of what we do have is ours and is paid for. I think the Roloff's could use a good lesson from Suze Orman. I'm not a fan of her's myself, but at least maybe she could give them some help of some kind. I just can't believe that Matt and Amy don't discuss their finances together. Me and my hubby do all the time. He is the only person in our family that does work and we are best friends and we discuss everything with each other before anything is done in our family. We are not the perfect couple by any means either, but we do have good communication between us. Even tho my hubby is gone from home about 4 nights a week, if something needs to be done, I do call him and discuss it with him. I'm talking major things. If I need to buy groceries and he knows thst I do, I don't have to discuss that with him, but most of the time when he is home on the weekends, we do our grocery shopping together as a family. All this is JMO and thought I would voice it. Take care and have a great day.

mom of two from AK, I dont understand your post. Are you mad that you lost your home? I'd be mad, but your anger seems to be at the Roloffs and their good fortune. They seem to have plenty of money, but they have camaras following them around, people like you judging their relationship and actions. You say something about buying with credit, and how you dont do it. Do the Roloffs? If anything, when we were first introduced to the family they had money issues, and I think perhaps they took this deal with TLC to boost their bank account, and teach others tolerence of LP. I dont blame they I would too if in that pickel.

IMHO, I don't read Momma of 2's post as an angry one. It appears she's sharing some unfortunate circumstances her family's been through in the recent past.

As I understand your post, Momma of 2, is that the way you perceive the Roloff's interaction with each other in regard to finances is that they are not on the same page, or keep each other informed as you and your husband do.

So many times I've made observations about R's situations and posted my opinion - that's what this board allows viewers to do. A challenge I find when reading some posts is I might not pick up the emotion the writer is feeling when typing his/her reply. Sometimes the addition of a smiley face of some type lends a clue.

I've wondered why sometimes my interpretation of a post and how I'd reply to it differs so much from some, not all, replies others write. Well, we're all different and perceive the world/posts/observations/Roloff’s in our own way.

Here's my analogy of this forum posting board: We're like a classroom. Some students sit in the front, others way in back, some interact with the teacher, others fall asleep on their desk, there's the class clown, the teacher's pet, and the disruptive few that are, after causing everyone frustration, sent to the office.

My analogy does not reflect anyone one this board, it merely summarizes how different people in a small, medium, or large group can be from one another. Now, I'm off to beddy-by. Smile

Dt. Nice roundup. I like the class analogy.

A note about Suze Orman. She gives such good advice. I've learned a lot from her shows. Actually, I saw her at the local farmer's market last year. Just blurted out "SUZE." She was as nice in person as she seems on TV. Talked with me, introduced her life partner. It was quite a thrill.

Thanks rita! I forgot to add the majority - the remaining students who are filling up the rest of the seats in the room!

What a neat experience to meet Suze Orman, and to be able to speak with her directly. We run-of-the-mill, everyday folk don't encounter celebs too often. Not that their celebrity status is the attraction, but the qualities they possess, i.e., investment advice.

I'm new to the board too. Just wanted to say that I love the Roloff family. I think Matt is one smart cookie. He has taken the money from this show and installed a pool, basketball court, increased the size of his home and has brought farm equipment. He stated he had a million dollar farm in one of the episodes, well, now he has a two million dollar farm counting the equipment. Its great to see a little man stand tall. GO MATT. Maybe mama2 should have went to work before losing their home and car. I would have loved to stay home and raise my kids but it took both of us to work to make it.

Sorry I haven't replied back, but I've been busy around here. Dthomas, you interpreted my post correctly. I have nothing against the Roloff's redoing their dream home. My point was just that Amy and Matt don't communicate like me and my hubby does. To me, IMO, that is what makes part for a good marriage is the communication with each other. My hubby wanted me to stay home and raise our daughter's since he is gone most of the week. That was his choice because since we live in a small town, it wouldn't really pay me to work because I would have to pay for a babysitter for the girls. These days, around here, that is expensive. I'm not trying to start anything with anyone, but this is the life we chose to do and everyone has their own life to choose how to live and all. But that was my main point dthomas. "THANK YOU" for not taking it the wrong way. I am all for anyone who can better themselves especially in these days and times.
