A clean and ORGANIZED house does not mean a cold,lonely home it means just that a clean and organized home which equals things get done faster - more time for other things and if you need something right away you know where to find it. Whoa! Wait a min! I just came in here for the first time and seen this?! Silvia, My mom raised me and my brother, both straight A students, and our house was pretty much like the Roloffs. We didn't have a problem. My house is pretty much the same but I could find everythign Im looking for as long. If someone, other then me, cleans my house, I will never find anything that Im looking for. If you don't know how it is to live in a clean house or living in a "disorganized" house, then keep your lips shut. I lived in both and I say having a clean house and having a messy house drives me BONKER Why? A clean house is hard to keep clean! Expecially if you are a parent. A dirty "Disorganized" house is hard to get clean cuz of time. My house is right in the middle.

I agree Sylvia! I don't buy that messy is lived in excuse either. messy is lazy. My home is lived in but it is clean and neat. I have cancer and no housekeeper. My kids help out and maintain a stright A average. their homework and school and school activities come first before chores. Everyone that comes over can come in without me having to feel like I have to make excuses or hide a mess and they always say how warm and inviting my home is and that is always smells so good. I take pride in a clean home not for appearances, but because it is what I want. I cant live in clutter. some people can and that is their choice. A clean home is not hard to keep clean, it is easier to clean. when everything is in a mess it drives you nuts trying to find something and living in the disorganization. and yes, mine was disorgainzed, not roloff style, but too much for me, the first round of my cancer. When you start clean and keep it clean and tidy, the easier it is to keep it that way. when you let it go for weeks and let it pile up on you, thats why it takes so much time to clean it up. The Roloff's home could be so beautiful cleaned up. It is beautiful with the remodel FINALLY finished, but to destroy it like that with all the mess just shows their lack of appreciation. Amy's kitchen is beautiful and reminds me of my own without the mess!!!
I was watching yesterday afternoon and was so disturbed by the mess...I had to shut it off. I've read the other posts with people defending the clutter etc...To each his own. My house is not sterile, but there isn't last nights dinner sitting out and about. Orgainized clutter..I think not. Hire someone to get on top of it all ready. I am done watching the show - sadly.
pagepeddler im new too maybe a month or so and i got attack too..i did attacking back too .but defending so good luck.i write fast andmisspell alot so that was one attack and nothing to do w-the show.

I am not saying everyone who lives in a messy home and is disorganized will do poorly in school,job,etc but it certainly helps to be organized and its a skill you need in ANY work place. No harm can come from being organized but same cant be said by being disorganized and thats what a messy home is disorganized. You and your brother got A's which is great but many who dont get A have a better chance with being organized it just makes life that much easier and you do have MORE time for things so its not like by cleaning up your taking away time from other things it doesnt take days to clean up some here make it sound like living in an organized non messy house requires connstant cleaning .

I agree some here like to twist things around a tad like I am saying house should be sterile and they need to wrap things in plastic lol what I am saying is if it takes forever to find things your simply wasting time like Amy does and sadly the kids are the same. They cant find clothes in the morning before school or Jeremy so disorganized doesnt know what his homework is as his notebook a mess. Each to his own I prefer not to have to waste time looking for things

Lol I know last nights dinner still laying on the table from day before was pricless . I would worry about insects,etc. Its just gross To me it makes the show fun to watch dont let it turn you off its still a fun show
Its so tragic when people have got nothing better to do than to judge every one else. I personally love watching the show and didnt think the house was that messy at all! I admire the Roloffs for their sheer determination and gutts.
It's okay to like people, but to say that their house isn't that messy is just plain silly. It's a pig sty, there are dirty clothes, clean clothes, papers, books, dirty dishes, etc etc etc all over the place. Wonder what the definition of messy would be for some folks.
You're right, Watcher, and even Matt Roloff himself calls it a 'pigstye', so he didn't mind 'judging' it that. "Judging" posters for their observations of same is nothing like tragic, but it's hypocritical. JMO, of course.

As I've said on other threads, my beliefe about a clean house. The mess will be there always, your family and friends may not.
