I found a blog in a very round about way. I was doing a search and found this instead. Don't read it if you are easily offended. I only show it, because I'm advocating awareness for recognition that me and others like me are whole humans. http://www.fourcamelsatsea.com/?p=8God bless, and hopefully God punish. JD

I looked at the website. It is shocking, beyond what I could imagine anyone could say or think. The person who has set himself up to decide who/what has soul, is sick. I'd advise LPs to avoid this.
I believe we ARE soul and that animals are soul too.
I read that LPA is trying to get the media to stop use of the word "midget." Hope they can.

The word midget has been around as long as I have. Here is the def according to the net.
Midget is a term used to describe an exceptionally short person . The terms "midget" and "dwarf" are often used synonymously, as both terms mean someone who has been short in stature since birth, but those terms were not originally synonyms.

Hi Starshine. Just a thought here: There are many words that have been around a very long time, but if the people whom a word describes feel it is a derogatory one, then I think we should honor that feeling. For instance, the word "retarded" has been changed to mentally challenged. Indian has been replaced with Native American--and on and on. It is a matter of evolution, I suppose.
I'm not an "old lady", I'm a "senior citizen." (But I am actually an old lady. And proud of it!)

Oh yes, there are words that have been around forever and I'm glad some of them are being changed like midget and retarded. I think mentally challenged sounds much better, don't you?

There was an article in the NYTImes today that listed words just added to Webster's Dictionary. Interesting. We are fortunate with our English language to be flexible about changes.
