From my experiences throughout life I have broken many fluorescent lights. I marvel at it in normal speed yet I wonder what the bulb, shattering as it falls both vertically and horzontally on the ground, would look like in super slo-mo.

Breaking a fluorescent bulb releases mercury which is a very toxic metal. Fluorescent bulbs must be recycled properly. The episode where they "shoot" the line of fluorescent tubes was very irresponsible. The producers should resist the temptation to do this anymore, especially on a channel like Discovery!
