I think it's time to give a hint. I checked the meerkat groups and Evi's diary. Maybe I didn't read close enough but I could not find anything.

Here is some hints:

This meerkat was a member of a current group, not a lost group, and the word "potjie" means a cook pot.

I am still looking and not having any luck with anything concrete but for some reason I keep thinking Commandos. Maybe I read something somewhere or maybe I am just wrong. Let me know!

Another hint: On the KMP Meerkat Groups "...a wild meerkat who had been brought to us (instead of the potjie) from Van Zylsrus....."

The poor little guy was named Beetle, and he was ransomed for 5 rand. This was one of the questions on the Holiday Contests that the KMP had in December. Now when you read the Whiskers group history on the KMP you know who they're referring to who was brought into the Whiskers instead of into a cook pot! Thank goodness for that!
