No, it shows that they just don't care about the morons that actually think this is a major issue in their lives. Since I would be surprised if most of these people can even dress themselves, I don't think they are a significant part of the advertising market. Yeah, that was not very nice, but come on folks, it is not a big deal.

But it's enough of an issue for you to chide us, eh? Get off your high horse.

Actually I think that what it shows is that they got inundated with rabid ranting fan mail and, in order to answer as many people in the least time possible they resorted to a form letter. If Discovery had taken the time to compose individual personalized emails to all of the fans that they've 'wronged' I'd bet we'd be hearing a lot more of "Discovery won't answer us!!!! Discovery doesn't care about their viewers!!!!!!"
The reason for the lack of respect, I would guess ,is that you are all acting like spoiled children.
Well, while there were plenty of childish acts in this thread, most folks were acting like disappointed customers, which is exactly what we are. And as a disappointed customer, I have every right to make my disappointment known. Again, I'll quote customer service saying (which was in one of my deleted posts)
"A customer who complains is doing you a great service."
All that needed to happen was for Mythmod to say something like "Hey, I really don't know anything about the reason for the preemption. I'm as disappointed as all of you are. I'll try to find out some more info and post more as soon as I know more."
This response probably would have quelled a lot of the fervor in this thread. Instead, we got implications of viewers not being adults or having lives. And post censorship.
Don't like that people are still upset then stay out of the thread. In till this thread is locked it's reason for staying up is so people have a place to express there anger without spaming the boards.
Good idea. It's not like any of you guys are going to stick around and contribute to the board once you finish ranting.
I'm kind of wondering, If I use MSN TV, it says tonight, 10PM is Viral Hour, if I use TV Guide.com, it says EXPLODING LIGHTER. Tivo says Viral, TitanTV, Viral, YahooTV shows nothing, Time Warner, Viral... seems TV Guide probably has it right. Is TV Guide doing it right here, anyone else got any listing sites they prefer that show correct info
I could have sworn that I had either seen an ad on Disco, read it here on the boards or on the Disco site that the Apollo myths would be airing August 27th (for at least 3 weeks now).
Glad to know that so many are looking forward to seeing the new myths tested, as are we!
(Does anyone have any idea how many weeks or months in advance the scheduling is submitted to the different TV guides? We often have different shows airing from those that are listed in the schedule).

Seems "BLIND DRIVING" will be aired on 9/03/2008 (Golf and Driving Myths Put to the test). Also, PHONE BOOK FICTION on 9/10/2008 (Phone Book Fables and Hollywood Fireworks Myths). Even the titles sound good. Can't wait.
I'm glad I didn't send a letter. They'll probably just sell the address list to a data mining company. Get ready for spam.
Also, I'm depressed that thetroll's advertising dollars are worth so much more than mine. If only I was classy enough to call people names while accusing them of having mental impairments.

I assume that this is not a blanket statement.
There are people here who have expressed displeasure in an adult manner and have not been whining. It is totally acceptable to ask for an explanation when someone says they are going to do something, but neglect to do it.
Also, the fact that the whole of the forum grew by about ten thousand members over the course of about 15 hours would suggest that there is some displeasure amongst the fan base.
I am not going to roll around on the ground screaming about this. But I would like to know what happened. Disco has done this before, and we all know they will do it again. It is no secret that they do not really care about viewers, so I will not hold my breath.
Of course it wasn't a blanket statement, it was directed to those acting like children.
As for Discovery doing this before. There is a lot of stuff that goes behind the scenes that we will never know about. There is nothing we can do about that.
People have a couple of options. Stop watching or put up with it. It is really that simple.
The reality is this is a very small issue but people are acting like Discovery killed their pet or took away their birthdays.
It is just frustrating they are complaining so much about having to wait an extra week or two for the new shows and jumping all over the hardworking folks at Mythbusters and Discovery for it.
So for all of those whiners I am sorry I offended your intelligence by saying you couldn't even dress yourselves, even though I personally don't disagree with the statement.
I made an account here just so I could tell you all that I sent an email to The Consumerist about the suddenly delayed shows. Maybe a well-known consumer advocacy group can get an answer out of Discovery.
People it is a freaking TV show. Get a grip. How many of you complaining here has spent nearly as much energy contacting people about; gas prices, food prices, working poor, health care costs, global warming, world conflicts, homelessness, ect? You will spend all of this time on this but ignore the stuff the really matter. Pathetic.
I hope Thetroll isn't calling everyone who posted on this forum a "moron". I personally think that those kind of statements are ignorant and intentionally hurtful. Although I guess your chosen screen name says it all.
If you want to call and individual a moron based on personal observation and interaction then by all means do so. But to make a blanket statement like that about such a large group is..........moronic. Some of the "morons" are probably a good deal more intelligent or educated than yourself. The fact that you don't agree with them doesn't make them stupid. It just means they are worked up and are blowing off some steam.
It's been 21 1/2 hourst since the episode was pulled. Shouldn't we have an explanation by now. I can understand that it might be pulled because of the advertisers not wanting to support it during the olympics, but we should at least get an official explanation from Discovery.

I am calling anyone and everyone that thinks this is a major problem in their lives or the world a complete and utter moron. Because if you do really believe this is a major problem, then you even missed the short bus.
