This "fan site" for Mythbusters just astounds me, as the official site we've got a whole bunch of people who are under the age of 18. This whole site is full of things that aren't even myths, or are just general "Which mythbuster / mythturn do you like best", or people obsessing over Mrs Byron (yes, she is married!). They need to restore order to the site.. You can't even post a proper myth with getting proper results. It's a wonder we so rarely hear "This one's from the fan site." any more on the show.

It's upsetting.

This forum here, that you are in is the "Everyone's a Critic" forum. It is for people to criticize the mythbusters' findings, give compliments and suggestions and to basically converse about the show, its cast and what may make it better or what we like or what we dislike.

If you are posting a myth idea here, you've posted it in the wrong place. There are several forums labeled "Show Ideas" and are broken down into categories for myth ideas.

However, as I stated before, this forum here is not for that, it is for any type of criticsm (good or bad) and basic discussions on the program, the cast and crew.

Criticism of the show is a good thing. There is such a thing as CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, which is productive as it allows other views to be expressed on the treatment of a topic. Unfortunately, there are people on this message board who feel they have the right to insult, belittle, badger and generally make an arse of themselves just because there is a minute chance of someone of some one of some importance seeing it. Then there are the people who post just to see their name at the top of the board. They will argue anything because it lends itself to notoriety, how ever fleeting.

And then there are the trolls, who find no good in anything that anyone has ever done and their sole purpose in life it to make others miserable online. They puff themselves up like a puffer fish with their crass words and idiotic dialog until someone gets sick of them and chases them off with logic (or they're simply ignored and fade into the distance.)

Hopefully, the wishes of the loyal fans will be heard and they'll get someone to "watch the flock" so to speak and keep the idiotic wolves at bay.

uggae, I ment every forum here, not just this general one. I'm talking from Mythbusters to Little People Big World. It's just generally insulting to see a TV channel that's so phenomenal can have such bad message boards for communication purposes.

I think Justacigar understood my point more clearly, as to why I'm upset about the way that Discovery runs these message boards.

I'd offer to help run the boards, but I know I'd be declined in a heart beat despite my previous expertise of running a forum of over 3,000 people before we sold it to a person who wanted to buy it for about 14 Grand... the board has since tanked, which is why I'm no longer part of it, but.. the point still stands.

If Discovery wanted to, they could really make this the best place to talk about all their shows.. it just seems to me they're not putting any effort into moderation.

No offense to any Discovery Operators or Mods who run this site, but.. it just needs to be said.

I wish there was another mode of communication other than this public message board. There are those of like minds who stand against the storm of idiocy and brave the moronic weather in order to gleam out the good that's here.

I cannot, for privacy's sake, put my email on this message board. If you can think of something, I would love to have a conversation with you.

have you never been to a site with a message board? generally, there is always going to be numerous people on them who have the always be "THAT" guy.. haha. It's inevitable, no matter how well monitered it is. And anyone who has any experience with message boards know that 9 out of 10 mods are just waiting to boot someone off the boards, so maybe its better its not monitered so well, because then where would we have this topic of conversation to occupy ourselves with? obviously we had nothing else to do, otherwise we wouldn't be talking about such trivial things. haha

just ignore the stupid people and take their comments with a grain of salt.. all that matters is that you know what you want to talk about, and there are others who know as well, and generally those who look find each other, and you can get a decent conversation on any message board.. ignore the idiots, you have to do it in daily life, so why not adapt it to the net? haha
