I'm going to shrink my 747 so I can take off from a treadmill at the gym. The only problem with that is squeezing into the plane. I got tired of seeing people that only have one post and they just used it to moan and groan. I can wait till they show it in Jan. It won't be the last time any show has this type of issue. If the POAT not being aired last night is your biggest issue, then you need to get a life. I've had a morning that I woke up not being able to move my left arm do to a spider bite. It took a month recover and I other problems along that line on a monthly basis.

According to Dan it has already been filmed. What desired result do you think they want to get, anyway?
No. You miss read me, my friend. I am not declaring that the MythBusters are up to foul play. Some have proposed, however, that the Myth Team did not get the expected result [a lift off] and are now busily re-cutting the segment to make it appear as though the plane lifts off... Whew! leave it to the conspiracy theorists!! What a bunch of bunk! [in other words, the plane takes off, and no - it is not a special effect made during the month long delay]

theSpecialist,
Do me a favor, keep that kind of BS off my board? That's all it is - the whining of those who think just because of a mistake think that the world is plotting their demise. It's distasteful that you would even bring that up. Knowing those people connected with the show as I do, I'm offended that anyone would even think that.
majmattmason,
It's all in a night's work for me. It was just a bit more hectic last night than usual. Considering the other boards I've worked, last night was a piece of cake!

I have made plenty. But I don't make excuses for them. I am glad to see that Dan didn't either. But you are right. In the grand scheme of things this is pretty minor.
. The response is mind-blowing, though. Nielsen ratings wouldn't have shown anything like this number of viewers who were downright irate.

Me too. Just trying to nip it in the bud before they finally get their chance to angle this one in.

Thank Gawd ( or whomever you thank ) for the voice of reason.
The cast has very little to no input on how the shows are edited. Calling them all sorts of filthy names on this board just keeps them away from here.
You want them to come back? The FIRST thing that needs to be done for this to happen is the FAN BASE needs to respect them. All the mess I removed last night is why they don't post here.

As for the "expected result".. some of the results ARE unexpected. That's the premise of the program.

It is indeed whining and conspiracy theorizing, but regardless of its impertinence to the actual topic, it WILL be used as counterpoint come January 30, and to those of us who know the answer (and have been trying tirelessly to educate the unwashed masses), it WILL become another obstacle. quote: majmattmason,

You know, it's amazing to see how some people forget so quickly that television viewing is sometimes fraught with disappointment. Need I bring up The Sopranos series ending in mid-sentence? How about that entire dream sequence season of Dallas? Or St. Elsewhere - turns out the entire series happened in a snow globe? This isn't any different. I watched, I was disappointed, I woke up this morning...

Now i am not extremely mad, dissapointed yes, mad no, just like many sensible people have already said, it is a show, its not perfect, things happen, if this is your biggest problem get a life, don't waste yours on this little problem, it may not be this week, next week, next month, or next year, the PoaT myth will be aired some day. Hopefully sooner then later but if not just move on. I love this show so much, if some of you think that because of one mistake you are done watching the show then you never really were a Myth Buster fan in the first place, shame on you!

I can kind of see your point. As I see it is a free product because we are not exactly paying for it. But anyway, lets look at it as you see it. The show was not an inferior product. Just slightly mislabeled labeled product, a label that was quickly corrected and apologized for once it was identified. Not making excuses, just putting it how I see it.

From whom? Not Adam, Jamie et al, I hope. As has been pointed out several times, they did nothing wrong. They have no control over how a particular show is edited, when it airs or how it is advertised. Blaming them is pointless and a waste of time. Now, if you're expecting an apology from Disco, that is entirely warrented. And let's face facts, people; even if it HAD aired, it would not have quelled the will fly/won't fly arguements one iota.

I'm expecting chocolate and flowers from all the people who made it so difficult last night... Dan Tapster, the executive producer, already apologized. What more do you want? MythMod

Mythmod You have a thankless task and conspiracy theorists seem to abound in the US and the work of a mod is generally not appreciated, but please don't tarnish genuine fans of the programme with the offensive posters to whom you refer. People posting those remarks were no doubt drive by posters wishing to air their general grievance with the world and probably wouldn't care if mythbusters existed or not. I really don't think anyone is justified in getting overexcited about a minor admin error. Go Mythbusters and thanks to mythmod for the efforts on the forum

I was watching the expected comments from the east coast viewers, as I was scheduled to get my ashes hauled when the show come out here. As neither event occurred, irate would have been a mild response, were I that kind of person.

In all fairness, I would point out that an apology to the few hundred people on this forum isn't quite the same as an apology to the tens of thousands of fans that tuned in last night. Although, it isn't really Dan's responsibility- that lies on Discovery channel.

A mislabeled product is an inferior product if it falls short of the desired specifications of the label. But like I said, Dan did the appropriate thing. Let's just put it behind us.

Dan didn't have to apologize, but he did.
Discovery runs the channel and the web site, they do not produce the show. Don't look for an on air apology, it's probably not going to happen. If it does, I'll be the first to know.
There were two things that showed the wrong episode. TV Guide's listings and the Discovery listings here on the site. Everyone I've talked to about this in the last 12 to 14 hours told me that their listings through their cable company (Comcast, Cox, WOW, etc) and through TiVo/Moxi were correct as they indicated that PoaT was not in the episode. If anyone has anything different regarding their cable/satellite provider, I need to know.
