Yes- given by the wrong person, and to a miniscule percentage of the people that it should be going to.

I can honestly say (that with Mediacom) there was no indication of the POAT (or POCB) was going to be aired -- I didn't even know of the controversy of it not showing until I came to the boards and everything was read only!

There was something slightly misleading though in my listing "Adam and Jamie try to land a jet in various weather conditions" -- that's not how I'd phrase "can a passenger land a jet with tower assistance"

No not really, i have been posting in this tread for a while and i havn't seen the apology, i know that one was made but honestly i wouldn't have come acrrosed it unless i looked for it, and besides, 500 people on forums compared to 10,000 people watching MythBusters with no accses or desire to go on forums. I still expect some sort of apology or at least mention on the next episode explaining why it was not aired, it wasnt the crews fault but come on people, it was someones fault, mistake, or misunderstanding, in which case the world diserves some sort of apology or explenation.

Check page 4 of this thread. There's a post from MythMod that includes an email from the shows producer, Dan Tapster. Not exactly an apology (not that he owes us one anymore than the MB team), but at least an explaination.

That still does not give people the right to post the things they did. Blaming the Mythbusters team for something they had no controll over. I am not surprised they do not come here anymore after some things that had been said yesterday.

You have 8 posts in the forums. Everybody makes mistakes and this could easily be a mistake the doesn't even belong to discovery. Just watch when they air it in Jan.

My take on the situation:

Big deal. Who cares? Yeah, I like Mythbusters, but it's not the reason that I get up in the morning.

I am a regular on this board, because I enjoy conversation with the intelligent people here.

It will not impact my life one way or another if I ever get to see the POCB episode. If I was right, I get nothing but momentary satisfaction. If was wrong, I get nothing but momentary disappointment.

To be honest, I was picking out baby names last night with my fiance who we've just found out is pregnant.

This show, for me, is entertainment. Something to sit in my cave and watch when I need to disconnect from the world for a little while. But, I have so much more going on in my life that is much more important than seeing if some hypothetical scenario would work the way I thought it might.

If this ruined someone's night last night, then you need to cancel your cable television, save the money you would have spent on that bill, buy a bicycle and see the flipping world for a change. If a misplaced airing of a television episode ruined your night...you're just sad.

MM, no worries about you handled things last night! You responded perfectly for a mod considering what was showing up from the droves of people who popped online to create an account <at least 75% turning up in this thread were dated 12/12/07 and had 1-3 posts to their names> just to come in and scream bloody murder and threaten the cast and even the people who stepped up to say at least direct it at the right ones.

Somewhere, someone made the mistake of not removing the reference to PoaT. Who's to say where that error occurred? And yes, I agree, though it would be a good gesture for Discovery to step forward and acknowledge it... I highly doubt they will. It will not change me watching the show, it does not tarnish my respect of Adam, Jamie and co. because it was not in their control.

And yes, the sun did rise today... my life goes on even though the segment did not air... in fact, I think it shines brighter because it hasn't aired! When it does finally air, it will not lay to rest any quarrels... just like every other popular topic on this forum the debate WILL go on.

Once more, good job MM! Disco owes YOU big time for last night's mess!

And for the individual that missed their wedding to watch the show.
I hope your fiance is on search for someone that sees them as more important then the TV.

Agreed. Sure, it was a disappointment, but hardly worth the hate filled diatribes we've seen (and the worse ones that we haven't).

And congrats on the little one!

Then why waste time and bandwidth posting?

Just so you can insult people? Who is the one that needs to get a life?

Yes, my night WAS, to a certain extent, ruined. I had other things that I could have been doing, but I passed because- for the first time in as long as I can remember- there was actually something that I really wanted to see on TV.

Then they didn't show it. Heck yes, I was disappointed, and yes it did kinda ruin my evening. When the one thing that you cleared your schedule for gets cancelled without your knowing, it can do that.

BTW- discovery channel STILL lists poat as being on the episode on their listings. Kinda hard to believe that they haven't figured out their error at this point. Seems to me that they just don't care.

I saw the post last night and I will try to find it if it still exists.

Because is seems to be the hot item on the board and I had an opinion to interject.

Me get a life? I'm posting on this board with my free minutes from inside a large corner office overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and a bunch of palm trees and bathing suits. That office is located inside a law firm which pays me quite handsomely.

When I leave today at 5pm I'll be taking my fiance out for dinner to discuss our wedding plans and I'll be finishing up picking out the new tile and wood floors going down in my house.

If, I have time, I may turn on the television. But, you can bet that with all the good things I'm doing...my life doesn't get rescheduled for television programs. I don't put off important things for trivial things.

The television waits, while I live.

Oh yeah...

The guy who didn't go to his wedding, the two who were going to commit suicide, the few who made threats and taunts to both cast/crew and people posting here - yeah.. that's all flushe.. er... removed.

They won't remove the error from the web site until it's determined who/what/when/why and how.

I find it funny that no one checked their local listings.... *sigh* guess that's just something I do.
