If you had read my post completrely, you would notice that I stated "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING from the entity at fault".
That would be Discovery Channel.
As has been made clear, this was Discovery channel's mess up, not mythbusters.
Dan is with Mythbusters, not Discovery channel.
Discovery has done NOTHING.
Docapi,
Do you not see the small type that Discovery reserves the right to change the schedule with out notice?? On my Comcast schedule it was not on there but I got over it and watched the show any way. As for the guy who skipped his wedding and the people who said they were going to kill themselves you need to get your priorities straight.

I'm sure he would but his plane is on a treadmill and he doesn't know if it will be able to take off!
....not funny?....sorry you set me up for it. Having to wait longer to watch a tv show isn't a big deal so I just thought I'd try and lighten the conversation.

Hehehehehehe! Good one! Love it!!!! Koodoos, supernothing!
I know this is the wrong forum but I'm tired and don't feel like navigating.
Wow. I remember the day when finding information was as difficult as walking to the bus stop to catch a ride to the public library, then having to stand over a physical card catalog to find a tangible 3x5" cardstock index, using one or more hands and a writing utensil to scribble out a number, then ACTUALLY WALKING to a shelf and even possibly CLIMBING a short step stool to reach and lift a back-breaking 8 ounces worth of book, only to be faced with the arduous task of opening and reading it. Now that the internet has relieved us of all but the last of these toilsome tasks, some are still too lazy to actually perform just that one...
I sense a correllation between this impudent sense of entitlement and the unfortunate and misplaced firestorm of criticism to which we were all subjected last night.

And the one that is still continuing today? Yes, I agree wholeheartedly with you, eightbit.
It seems some here just won't be happy until Adam and Jaimie personally appear on their doorsteps with flowers and a fruit basket. All over an honest mistake with a television program.
And that's a very disheartening revelation about our society.
This whole thread is actually funny. The listings for shows get changes all the time and many times the post-production final cuts get changes.
I am laughing at how many people are miffed that the listing was off. Guess what, it happens. Get over it! Just relax and wait 'till the segment gets put into another show.
And for all those who keep wondering if the plane will take off. He's a clip that shows the truth.
WOW, even with the hack-and-slash MythMod had to do to clean up the board, this is an amazingly fast growing thread, especially with so little content! Talk about recursively excessive!
For those who have only seen two or three MythBusters episodes so far, this is not the first time that the Discovery Channel official schedule has been wrong. All you whiners and cry babies may not have gotten the exact myth you were waiting for, but at least you got a NEW EPISODE! Prior scheduling errors had us waiting for brand new eps and getting reruns! This was not the first, and won't be the last. It was just a random occurrence that so many NON-regular viewers were tuning in a for the end to a VERY long standing, VERY HEAVILY discussed, argued, etc myth. Well, what you saw instead was not that bad on its own right!
Now, as for Plane on a treadmill (conveyor belt). _I_ wrote the original myth research brief for this one! And I came up with a way that was physically possible to test the myth FULL SCALE, with a REAL AIRPLANE! And in a rare occurrence, I happened to hear the results of my test right after it was filmed. All I can say right now is that the FULL SCALE TEST went perfectly, with an un-ambiguous result. But we will ALL have to wait until January 30 to SEE IT!
And shame on EVERYONE who thought the MythBusters would hold a myth segment so they re-shot the final test to get the results they want. A failed test that did produce any result, _maybe_, but change test that had a valid result to get a DIFFERENT result, NEVER! And believe me when I say that Adam and Jamie are stoked to see this one air!
AND SO AM I!!!!
Mike

The guy who didn't go to his wedding, the two who were going to commit suicide, the few who made threats and taunts to both cast/crew and people posting here - yeah.. that's all flushe.. er... removed.
They won't remove the error from the web site until it's determined who/what/when/why and how.
I find it funny that no one checked their local listings.... *sigh* guess that's just something I do.
MythMod
That's really infuriating coming from a mod, since the local listings did in fact quite clearly say that they would be testing a plane taking off from a conveyor belt.

And I can not wait to see the complaints about that episode. I think I will get a few beers, a cigar, and just sit back and laugh at those Pilots, engineers, etc that have not one clue as to how planes work.
Well, I just got back from a trip, fired up the DVR and, sadly, no POAT. Haven’t been on the boards for a while so came here to see what was up. OMG.
I’ve been in the POAT discussion now for about 25 years. Have discussed it in classes, with coworkers and with fellow pilots. I’ve always been amazed by how passionate (and insolent) some people can become over a vector equation. But I gotta say, I love POAT and I love MythBusters, so I have been eagerly awaiting this episode.
The site was effectively shut down because viewers didn’t get their POAT? It boggles my mind. Discovery has had a history of messing up the listings, but there has never been a response like this. It saddens me. I wish I had more to say, but I’m just shocked and amazed.
I look forward to seeing the episode in January. I’m sure it will be a good one.
