I just watched a re-run episode that had a viral video showing how to open a car lock with a tennis ball. Now im not saying this works for sure but, older volvos and some older mercedes that have power locks use a vacuum system to control them. If you look in the video they show it is a volvo they do this to. So I can see how the pressure from the ball would unlock the door. Where as the dodge caravan they test the myth on uses steel rods to control the locks, there for it doesn't even make sense to even try it.

If you truly wanted to see if this myth was busted you should try it on a volvo, I would suggest an older one to make sure it has vacuum power locks.

The pneumatic system operates the latch, it DOESN'T operate the key cylinder... blowing into the keyhole, even with a tennis ball, will still not operate the pneumatic mechanism because it will not rotate the keyswitch.

...yadda, yadda, yadda... "Find".

Tory and Grant, however, did.. And busted it..

The whole vid is a sham, it's a hoax. The whole thing is done with someone having the remote keylock outside of cameraview, and opening the door when they start pumping with the tennisball..

Soooo.... you're saying that the key DOESN'T emit a big puff of air when you put it in the lock?

Imagine that.
