Do not discount the validity of the CMH.
I'm not. Once again, I'm sure they're all true.
But it doesn't scientifically confirm the myth.
You continue to assume that I'm implying they are false. You're all too patriotic and emotional to see this clearly, so I won't post here anymore.
tell ya what- you win. The medal of honor is as good as fact. All you need is a witness testimony and you don't need to test the myth. I hear they might test bigfoot- but why bother? I saw one last week. Case closed.

stabwounds, I'm an aussie so i have no true patriotism nor emotional attachment to the MOH.
My understanding is that it is the highest military citation for American troops(please correct me if i am wrong).
If this is the case then surely before handing out this prestigeous award some form of investigation would have to take place that would prove such an award is warranted.
I agree that hearsay and "i saw" or "he did" are not true proof that something has occured, but in this instance allowing for the fact that many military men have been killed in battle and very few MOH's have been handed out surely this is some form of proof that these acts have been performed.

Also, I don't know how many times I've said this- but just because someone jumped on a grenade, that doesn't confirm the myth
THE MYTH IS "does it work?"
NOT "did it ever happen?"
None of you seem to understand.
